I'm sure this has been covered but I'm not sure---should I remove the cellophane cover from thoose cigars that come this way? I would think I should but I've been leaving them on......

cello on or off is a long battle - IMHO leave them on if you plan on smoking them in the next 2 yrs. Humidity level for non-isoms is 70% and isoms around 65%. For long term storage (several years) lowering the humidity to 60% is proper as long as you move them to 65% a couple months before smoking.

The above postings make good sense. On fairly rare occasions the cellophane is left on. Case in point: I still have a few RyJ Celestial Finos from MO that have been aged in cellophane since 1979. Until the flame is put to them, the cellophane should stay on, as at this point they are aging more effectively with the cellophane on than if it were to be removed. Aging in cellophane involves considerably longer time frames than aging without cellophane, so for most people it's not very appealing. Incidentally, if you ask MO about aging in cellophane, he has an informative printout entitled "The Effect of Age in Various Packaging." If it is a subject you wish to explore, he might send it to you.
