What makes a cigar a Maduro ? I have taken a few cigars apart to examine and the tobacco looks the same as far as color to me. Is it the wrapper that determines a Maduro and how do they make it that way?

Go to http://www.cigargroup.com/faq/ and scroll down to the "Table of Contents." Under "General Information" find 2.6 and click on "Wrapper Types." That's a start for you. Good luck.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-25-02 AT 00:44 AM (CDT)]And as long as I'm at it, you can also go to http://cigaraficionado.com and scroll down to "Cigars 101." Click on that, and you will be presented with a number of topics to choose from including "Shapes, Shades, and Sizes." Happy reading and, once again, best of luck.
