I watched this DVD last night and was pleasantly surprised. Kurt Russell is very good as the coach, Herb Brooks. This performance is even better than his potrayal of Dexter Riley in "The Computer that Wore Tennis Shoes."

I remember the actual event since I'm old and stuff, it was a spectacular game with a ton of emotion going the whole way. In the extras DVD they talk about how $30 seats for this game had reached a street value of $60 and upward. Like I say, I'm old and stuff.

Good Flick, The hockey scenes are extremely well filmed.

Yeah I really enjoyed it as well. I thought Kurt did Herb Brooks very well. I like the fact they got actual hockey players to play the guys on the 1980 team. I was very impressed with every aspect of the movie.

I still get goose bumps when I think of that historic game. Our "kids" beat the most elite team probably of all time. Kurt was awesome as Brooks but, the movie left me a little flat. Good flick just not as good as I expected. IMHO

I enjoyed the movie, but thought it was more about Herb Brooks than the USA team. I wished it would have been more about the players.

I understand what you mean, but I think it was smart not to make it more about the players. Since if it wasn't for Herb Brooks....we wouldn't have even won the Bronze medal in 80. Yes the players were good, but he made them great....as a team. And not to mention what a great movie on leadership!!!!!!
