C&D Bum Steer
this was made for the chicago pipe show in 2002. according to description this later became longevity. it comes in crumble cake form. unfortunately it was also very dry and crumbled into a powder and small nuggets. this is an english/balkan blend with syrian latakia which imo has a distinctly different profile than its cyrian brother. the latakia was the main flavor but overall a mild blend in english blend terms. after an initial soapiness (most english blend smokers know what i am talking about), it settled down to a smooth and smoky flavor. the virginia and turkish tobaccos were way in the background. no sweet citrus from the va.. being on the dry side it burned very hot even when smoked slowly. no tongue bite but the bowl was very hot. also since it was dry it built up alot of moisture so i had to purge it several times before i got serious gurgle. wish it had some moisture so i could have enjoyed it more. i have never tried a crumble cake so i have no idea how to rehumidify it. a good solid yet mild blend.
