Just wondering if any of the gorillas out there know anything about these mystery cigars. Been poking around the other forums and heard them mentioning some fuente cigars named the sss shark anejo and a maduro forbidden x. Now is this a true maduro opus or just one with a really dark wrapper? Then I heard reference to a vintage selection fuente, I thought that fuente wasn't going to release any type of vintage cigar because it give the impression that some of their cigars are aged longer than others. Oh by the way has anyone heard any word on the Padron Anniversario 1924's that were supposed to be released in November. There was a lotta hype at rtda about them but it is March and I still haven't seen a lick of them. Probably just missed them but I am not the only one. And lastly the mysterious 50ct cabinet selection of vsg's. Maybe I am dreaming that I read about these or maybe the folks were talking in code but just curious if anyone knows any history of these "mystery" smokes and any links to some pics of them. ;)

Yes, there is an Anejos called the "Shark". It's the only Anejos that is not numbered and the only one (at least in the new release) that does not have a cedar sleeve. With that said, I've not found any so I can't relate what they are like. The Forbidden X, Chili Pepper, Phantom, 666. etc are "unreleased" Opus. That is, they are a very limited run that Fuente does not sell. They are handed out as gifts to a select few. I've heard of Maduro Opus, too. As for vintage, I've got a few Chateau Fuente's that have a green ribbon on the foot that are called "vintage". Are these what you mean?

No word on the 1924's here (I have a hard enough time finding PAM's at a reasonable price, let alone what these will go for).

SSS Shark is indeed an Anejo and it does have a number. It is the Anejo #77 SSS. A true round to square torpedo, meaning it is round on one end and has the appearance of a box press on the other. The Forbidden X is the same as the Phantom, an unreleased Opus X that is indeed given out at special events, etc. I have a natural wrapped one but am still trying to find the maduro. There are a whole nuch of these "special" Fuentes out there, including Anejos, Opus, Hemingways and Diamond Crowns. The vintage selection you are referring to is another special release cigar that was put out a couple of years back I believe. I think it was a Hemingway, much in the same vein as the new VSG reserves. The Padron's have not been released yet and I believe they are to be called 1926 instead of 1924's, though I could be wrong here.
Here's a few from my collection, the Forbidden X/Phantom is second from the left:

Thanks for the pics Matt, wow need to go to more cigar conventions to get some or found out your connection ;-) What is the weird one with the cedar wrap around it or does it have a name? The more I talk to some of you guys the less stuff I feel I have but it is still fun. Thanks again!

Left to Right: Sosa Bat, Phantom, Cuban Tickler, maduro Perfexion X, Chilli Pepper, 666, maduro xXx, pre-release Petite Lancero. I have a few new ones since this pic was taken, Sylvester Stallone Private Reserve A, CFC 2001 A, Twin Towers A, maduro Double Corona and some Anejo and Diamond Crown's too. Seeking these out is my greatest cigar obsession...LMAO I get lots of help from the SoCal area... ;)
