Hey all,
I`m in need of some help in the way of advice. I just finished my first Padron Anniversario, an Exclusivo Maduro, and even with all the hype about the PAMs, I was not disappointed. I seemed like a sin to put it out, but luckily I have another waiting for me :)
Anyway, the smoke shop I buy them from has 1 sampler left. These are the samplers that are extremely hard to find, even on the web, and feature the "A"s that are only distributed in the samplers. I really want to buy it, but it is priced at $105, which (with tax) would bring it to about $112. That means each cigar is upwards of $22 a piece. I know this is not exactly a steal, but I can`t find them anywhere else and was just wondering if I would be considered crazy or a sap to buy this sampler. I`m very bad with money and will usually spend too much on something I want without considering the cost, so I need honest opinions.
Thanks in advance,
Skyler

It aint about the money or none of us would have this passion for cigars. If it's something you want and you have the money, my advice is buy it. As long as you enjoy whatever you spent the money for, be it cigars, cars, whatever, then you have'nt wasted a penny. Ya gotta live each day like it's your last because it damn well may be.

My brother and I have two of these Padron samplers, which he bought and which contain the "A" size cigar. Unless my memory is off (possible)they came out just before Christmas in 2000 and sold for $79.99 each around these parts(southeastern Wisconsin). To me it's five cigars, and that's about it. It has no additional value beyond that except maybe as a gift. With the exception of the "A" all are available as singles and by the box. Plus, they are not that hard to find. So it boils down to how much your willing to pay to get one of the big "A" size stogies. From that perspective, are these pacts worth it? Some may disagree, but I say no. Making the "A" unavailable except as part of the sampler is a marketing gimmick. The other sizes can be excellent. What more does any one really need?

You can buy the other four vitolas for about $40.00, buy two of each and it still isn't going to cost as much as the sampler. That way you can have double the pleasure when you fire them up.:9

I don`t know where you find your Padrons, but I can only find them at a local store (other than boxes, which are too much to pay at once). The cheapest I have found them is $15 a piece and I`ve only seen Exclusivos and 1 Torpedo. If I could get them for $10 a piece and could find a good variety, I definitely would.

Cape Smoke Shop, Cape Coral Florida, They don't always have all the vitolas, but usually two or three, from 6.75 to 11.00:-)
