that's funny you pointed that thread out!
Thats my original post on the 1666 story, but that's only based on my speculation and the discussion of a few on here...I'd love to know the real story...I've emailed Graycliff but they have declined to answer my email to this date. Never the less, like...
Thats funny!
I think they are worth what you pay, less than $2 a stick...nice everyday kickin around smoke in my op. I still want to know the story behind them and whether Graycliff has anything to do with them.
I'll try and get a picture up on the post from my last crushed box but I wish I had a picture of the sneaker FOOT print across one of my packages last year...from you guessed it...UPS. A friggin' foot print...nothing says we appreciate your business more than a size 11.
Have any of you BOTLers had problems with UPS and how they handle the standard box CBID ships in? 4 times in the last two weeks I've gotten my shipments in either crushed or partially open boxes. Big Brown has gotten sloppy with the care of the packages they are entrusted to deliver.
I'm glad...
I think of 'aging' as letting the oils come out and allowing the cigar to bloom. Once this is done I think that the cigar has gotten rid of all the 'freshness' (mellows out)and at this point will not 'age' any longer(or better) and it won't start to decline from there. For some cigars, this is...
I believe the Serie No. nomenclature was what was originally used for naming cigar sizes. Then they went to robusto, churchill, torpedo, etc...now you can find them in either, or both.
Theoretically as long as you don't cut of the entire capa you will be all set. The capa is what holds the wrapper leaf on...but if the humidity gets too high and your cigars absorb that humidity...all bets are off and so is the wrapper for that matter.
Just to recap...I guess that this line is sort of like the Padilla Obsidian in that it's marketed specifically by online retailers ( I haven't seen them in any B&M and their not on the Manufacturers' website catalog) and the respectful company that graces the band probably doesn't officially...
I love that nicotine kick where your stomach turns and your head bangs a little. It's nice to have every once in a while. It is weird though, sometimes you smoke after you've eaten and you still get the feeling. Perhaps its just one of those oddities.
If this is true, then Graycliff and Avelino don't really have anything to do with this line besides packaging it. From the looks of it they don't even do the marketing of it, CI does. IS this the story?
yeah I went to their website and it didn't mention anything about the line. I've seen these around for a few months now and will be giving them a try. This must be the economy line then as their other lines look like they get very pricey.
Do any gorillas know the story behind the Graycliff 1666 and whether they are a new line from Graycliff made just for CI or they are a pre-existing line repackaged for CI.
Thanks
