Casa Royale, a Pepin Garcia blend made for Holts. A good smoke with a lot of potential. I smoked one a week ago cuz I couldnt wait; curiosity got the best of me. It was good, with a lot of upside. Additional time at rest will only improve it.

This has not been my experience with the Pepin Cuban classic at all. I have had several different vitolas of this type and found them to be excellent, and without any problem with construction at all.

I have the Maduro and have had no complaints.

While you may have tasted similar flavors in the two, they are definitely not the same blend. I have had both, numerous times. The Edge is stronger, less complex, less chocolatey and less smooth than the OWR.

I try to put away anywhere from 3 to 5 smokes (CC or Non CC) to age. Although it is tough to keep my hands off em, it is worth it.

These are good smokes. I am sorry to hear you didn't find them as complex as they can be. My experience has been the opposite though, but that is probably because I let em rest for several months before smoking them; I find it makes a big difference.

Strangely enough, I am in a similar place. I haven't completely lost my attraction for cigars but, the CC's seem less of an attraction to me. OTOH, I am re-dedicating myself to DPG products and others which I haven't spent much time with. Of course it may have a lot to do with the cold weather...
