Day 4:
Took out my last two Tatuaje Blacks at 9:00pm, 67% RH. Smoked beautifully. Will be posting in the WTS forum to see if anyone has some they could free up. :)
Will be checking to see how long this Boveda pack really lasts. Instructions say 2 months. So after this trip is done (in a few...
Day 1:
Around 7:00pm, I placed 9 cigars into the 18-count, placed the 69% RH boveda pack in, and a WCIII (Calibrated, -1 degree off). After two hours, the WCIII was reading 50% RH. I then proceeded to drive 200 miles to Los Angeles, CA.
Day 2:
Opened up the Caddy around 11:00am and it wa at...
a while back, i did a review of my 5-ct cigar caddy, which gets a lot of use and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
well, jamie of www.cigarcaddy.com took notice of my humble experiment and asked if i'd be interested in doing some tests on the 18-ct with a boveda pack. i was all for it, so...
i used to use a punch as my primary and every once in a while, i'd get tar build up (i think usually on larger RG cigars). if you have draw problems, you can always just punch another hole or two or three. make yourself a clover. i kept a punch on my key ring, so it was just convenient.
i'll give one of the other sizes a try and thanks for the RH tip. makes sense as i keep all my cigars at 65% RH and never had a problem. i smoked the Riqueza straight from the shop and really didn't like it.
that's interesting. anyone know if that's common for a cigar maker to say, "let these rest a bit"? i remember reading a thread here where JPG said cigars were rolled with the intent for them to be smoked right away, cuz after aging, it would no longer have the original intended flavors. in fact...
burn was perfect, the draw was tighter than i prefer, and like another review, the cigar got all soft to the touch.
i would not recommend the #1 and it seems others are having better luck with the other sizes. the flavor was consistent throughout, but it wasn't a flavor familiar to any tatuajes...
Ceniza in Pasadena has a nice indoor lounge, but their selection can often be skimpy. not really sure if they just get cleaned out often or if they're slow on buying, but they throw a lot of events.
i just checked out the Big Easy in Studio City which has every Tatuaje you can imagine. Pete...
+1 for ronson's. in fact, they're so cheap and reliable, i now have something like six ronson's lying around the house. the x-tend gets no play...which bring up an excellent point. i should sell the x-tend.
