I have been battling this same problem. Do what Mark suggested. Dry the beads out completely (I use a hair dryer) every couple of days. I also removed my beads from the tube and put them in a nylon stocking, (.33 at walmart).

How long does it take for 4 oz. of beads to dry in the oven or hair dryer? I had them in the oven at 150 degrees for an hour and they still look clear/opaque and some white. 20%,50% and 30% respectively. I then tried drying with a hair dryer for 10 minutes and they didn't change much.(High heat...

I thought it was seasoned at the time. It held 85% for 3 days with distilled water in a bowl. Once I removed the bowl it stayed at 80. I then left the lid open overnight and then checked humidity. It was at 70. That's when I put the beads in and sticks.

I have a analog hygrometer (salt tested an is 1% off), in my other humidor it is also holding 70% also analog (also salt tested and 9% off)I did order an adjustable digital hygrometer from Dave

My newly seasoned 200ct humidor is holding 70% with no beads, or any humidifier in it. I do have 75 or so sticks in there, but thought it strange after a week its still holding at 70. I do have 4 oz. of beads coming from Dave, so that will bring the RH down to 65%.
