I hate their guts - they kept sending me catalogs so I went through their online Customer Service system to request that they stop sending me catalogs.

The response - "Thank you for contacting Thompson's Cigars. We have removed you from our catalog mailing list. If there's any more assistance we can provide, let us know."

Thompson's service? That easy? You're joking! If I had done this over the phone I would've been asked 20 questions about why I was unsubscribing, whether I wanted to receive sh*tty cigars monthly, etc.

I'd rather shop at a retailer that stopped sending me catalogs the first time I asked with no questions (Cigar International).

Don't be so hard on poor Thompson's. They advertise some pretty good loss-leader samplers, and some of their humidor deals are OK. I got a great deal on their "Barrel" humidor a few years ago and it is still my favorite.

But that's it. Their house cigars are complete crap, Their prices on good cigars are ridiculous, and their catalog entries lie about almost everything. I still love that humidor, though. Give the devil his due. They advertise a lot, and many of us came to the hobby, or at least online cigar shopping, because of that. So they are not all bad. And all those catalogs make good bird cage liner.

I've never bought anything from Thompson's. But as I've said before, it was their random catalog they sent me that peaked my interest in cigars. It's only been 2 years now and my interest began thanks to (I hate to say it) that damn Thompson's catalog I received.

I have moved and Thompson's hasn't followed me so I enjoy catalogs from companies I actually order from. But I know how annoying these catalogs can be!

From what I know you have to move/relocate to get rid of them..

Cigar catalogs are of some value. I like to read them all the time. But, I am ashamed to say, I mostly just look at the pictures. I almost never read the articles!
