5 Vegas Classic Robust

bwalker2us

Aged to perfection!
Today I tried my first 5 Vegas cigar. I got these in a mixed sampler a several months ago so they have been in the humidor for some time. I had read a number of good comments about the Vegas line so I was glad to select one for tonight. That being said, I was not impressed with the cigar. While the construction was good and the draw and burn where good it just wasn't that good. In fact, it was kind of like smoking cardboard. Am I missing something here or are they just another over rated cigar? Or maybe something like the Gurkha’s, love’em or hate’em kind of thing. I’d like to know what others think?

I don't care for the 5 Vegas Classics. They are one-diemensional and don't have a whole lot of taste to them. The 5 Vegas Golds are not bad.

I've had one gold and I have a box and a half of the series "A". I love the Series "A" and the Gold was decent. I just a got a 5er of the classics last week. I figured I might as well try them. I hope I'm not disappointed, too.

I agree, the Classics aren't for me. However, the Cask Strength and the 5 Miami's are both very good smokes, imho.

Never had any of them except 5 Vegas A that I didn't like at all. I gave them a chance, smoked 9 of them and did not like one bit. I have been thinking of the other ones to try but to many good cigars out there that have top priority.

I actually smoked one of these last week and thought it was a nice creamy smoke with a little spice...

My thoughts exactly

I don't care for the 5 Vegas Classics. They are one-diemensional and don't have a whole lot of taste to them. The 5 Vegas Golds are not bad.

Not a fan of the "Classic".
The Gold is a decent lightweight breakfast cigar.
Will try the Miami soon

was not impressed with the 5 vegas classic robusto, wasn't dissapointed though. For the money the Don Kiki Red label is more flavourful and still has spice

I don't think they have much to them either. I have been buying them off the devil site "cheap" for yardgars. I have read a ton about the A's. I will have to try them soon.

I agree, the classic is pretty boring. The series A on the other hand, I find to be a consistently tasty, cheap smoke. It can easily be had for $2 per stick.

I'm not a fan of the Gold's either. I've got three left from a fiver that I'm going to let sit for a few years before trying again.

Now the Series "A" is a different beast. I just took advantage of yesterday's JoeCigar deal and picked up 20 for $40. Great bang for the buck stick.

While I do agree about the robusto other sizes are damn good. The torpedo is good but the panatella is truly a fine smoke to be savored.

I like the 'A' line a lot. The gold's are good mild cigars for the morning. I only tried 1 Miami so far and I liked it a lot, so now i have a box of them + 2 i received in PIF's. I have never had the classic, although i do have one that i received in a PIF, so I'll try it soon.

A good stick when compared to economy bundles IMO. I wouldn't pay alot for 'em though. I like these better than the A's.

I've found the 5 Vegas Classic to vary on a per stick basis. I've had plenty of both robustos and torpedos. Some are just a consistent stick with good burn and construction, nothing special but still a decent smoke. Others seem to have a good amount of creamy spice that I really like. I've had both experiences with sticks right off the truck and with 6 months of humidor time. My advice would be to smoke a few more and see if you get one that has that creamy spice taste. If you like it they are in the right price range to do what I do - pick'em up in bulk and keep lighting them till you get the one you want :D
