5 Vegas Series A Archetype and S&W 1911

Smith can figure out the external extractor? Kimber could not make it work. Great looking 1911... You should be very happy..

Kimber can't make their internal extractors work either most of the time. They would be one of the last 1911's I'd ever consider.

I won't ever own another 1911 to be quite honest. I've had numerous hiccups from 3 different major brands. All of which required the old "Send it back and we'll fix it"

Glock and Sig for me, thx.

Have to admit...I've done damned well with SIG, HK and the 3rd Generation S&W duty autos. Not talking personal opinion, or heard it at a gun shop BS. Talking tens of thousands of rds through guns carried in -45 to +105 temps. Carried by people who maintained them and others who did zero maint. From both a firearms instructors view and as an Armorer.

No comments on glock as my Agency never carried them.

As far as the external extractors which are the rage on 1911's now...A properly set up std extractor has never failed me. Then again I had access to a couple of great 1911 Armorers so a trip "back for repair" was drop it at the shop during Guard Drill, pick it up end of the day.

Another system thats been very reliable for me are the Browning Highpowers, speaking only the 9mm's. Not the .40's. I've owned several through the past forty years, ALL of them performed well. Still have a pair, one that I still carry from time to time.

Sorry for the Rambling...but I like guns.

I love my Raptor and my Ultra Carry.. Raptor has been trouble free since birth. Ultra did have a loose ejector that was tighted with a 'liberated' pin from my neighbor. I really like the stuff from Fusion Firearms and it's a sin I am origionally from CT and I don't own a colt.
I used to think if you loved someone enough to shoot .45 at them, it better come from a 1911. After playing with a Glock 30sf at my local shop it's hard to say I don't want one of those.

I guess tonight I will have to work on a review of my own.

I have a Glock 30, it's not the SF version, but it's a great gun. Very accurate for a short barrel, soft shooting, and good capacity. It's my everyday carry gun, as a matter of fact. At last count I have 3,900 rounds through the pipe and not a single malfunction.

Nice looking weapon.

I prefer Colt 1911's with my cigars tho :p :r

And I prefer Springfield Armory with my cigars. :ss

The 5 Vegas Series A Archetype is my current favorite cigar. I just picked up a full box and they are resting nicely in my humi.

I like the Springfields, too, but my favorite 5 Vegas "A";s are the 5x52 Artisan's. Just ordered a couple of boxes as this thread reminded me my "A" supply was running low:)
