500 Dollars to spend. Any suggestions on a humi?

Darb85

Gotta get my flat six fix
I have 500 Dollars saved up for a new humi. I would like something with a glass top preferably that will truly hold 300-500 cigars. I dont want to do a cooler, A because I dont like the look, And B, I rarely buy boxes.

Also Might be interested If someone might want to make one for me? I know there are Quite Few Gorrillas that are quite accoplished in this area.

I wish you luck sir. It sounds like for the amount of storage you want you may need to either up your price or settle for a quality 'no name' that wont be $500. If you want to be able to give this to your kids, consider spending more money. If it is something that you think you will grow out of in 5 years but you still want a quality reliable humi, check out 'the vault' desktop at cigarmony. it doesnt have a glass top but i think it will hold upwards of 400 cigars...not real sure on that. Others will give you a more valuable reply but this is just my .02.

Just on a wim you should call Bob Staebell sometimes he has some humis that were ordered and never picked up and he lets them go cheaper than he normally would.

You may also want to try Cheap Humidors and look at the Antiem and Manasas humidor. I had the Antiem and it was a great humidor.I used the cigar oasis in it as well and it worked perfect.

Cabinets are great because they have a singles draw and room for box storage.

Who is this Bob Staebell? Got a number and website for him?

you migh want to also try the daniel marshall private stock off their website. You can email them and they'll give you their inventory. I have one and it looks and works great :D

just another idea....not sure if you like it. Could just spend a lil bit of $$ on a big arse cooler.... then buy a boat load of cigars to fill it...and then while you got a nice lil collection going you can save up to get a big cabinet humi...like the aristocrat

starting at $399.00:)
*Capacity 100-125 loose cigars, 15+ Boxes.

I just received my Aristocrat Mini a week or so ago. Bob's work is top notch and the humidor is very nice. If you're tight for money, watch the options. I do recommend the second pull out drawer though.

60 bucks on a coolerdor setup and 440 on some amazing smokes........ thats what I would do.......but then again, a nice humidor also has its place.

that has its allur as well but I think I want to get a decent Humi that will last me a while and Look great.

Anybody good at mission Funiture? Id love to have one in that style.

if you haven't set up a coolerdor yet you HAVE to at least build one to see if you like it. There is something to be said for being able to totally pick every piece of the setup. You select your cooler, and your humidification device and your hygrometer and then air it out, wipe it down, get an Oust fan and you are done. Now, you have a "stealth sleeper" humidor that so far, for me at least has been more rock solid at holding RH (COLEMAN XTREME series cooler) than my admittedly tiny 50 ct. burl wood finish humi. I am also betting that if you are anything like me, that 500 dollar humi wont have enough room inside of 6months, and neither will the coolerdor, but coolers are cheap ... sorry, I'm pushing I know, but its another way to look at it...

I have one of these from cheaphumidors. It is nice looking, holds 65% like a champ and will hold at least 25-30 boxes or so. I got it with the solid front.
Fits in under your $500 budget easily.

That being said, I just ordered a cabinet from Bob Staebell....his work looks magnificent, and if you can afford it, I hear they are more than worth the investment.

Good luck whatever you choose Brad...let us know! :D
