I always like to stop off at different liquor stores in my town to see if anyone is selling cigars. I have found a few but none that take care of the cigars that they have. Today was the worst though. I went in to a liquor store today and found a huge humidor full of really great cigars at some really awesome prices. Some were actually half the price of the place that I usually go to. I see an analog hygrometer that reads 90% so I ask the guy if he monitors the humidity and he says, "I just fill it with water every day". I feel the cigars and they actually feel spongy. We are talking cigars like Acid, Cohiba, Don Tomas, etc. I was tempted to buy some and just keep them in the humi for a while but I could not bring myself to do it. Would that work or are they toast? I told the guy that he needed to keep them at 70% and that that monitoring the humidity was important. He seemed a bit pissed that I told him this. He probably took it as me telling him how to run his company. What would you do? I want to take my digital in there to check the humidity.
I don't own a humidor but Im thinking of soon purchase them. I was always told 75%.
