hey everyone. i just recently started smoking cigars about 4 months ago. i have since bought a personal humidor it's a nice one and works very well. my question is can anyone recomend a variety of good smoking mild to moderate cigars that i can try and possibly stock the humidor with? i love the La Gloria Cubana. and a brand called CAO but the boxes are a little too expensive for me as of right now. i'm willing to drop about 40-50 on a box of about 20. my humidor holds 100-110 6 inch cigars. please help because it's almost pointless using the humidor for only 5 or 6 cigars.. thanks in advance, matt

hey thanks for all the help guys, keep it coming. i found a few cigar websites that offer affordable but very good quality cigars. plus my local cigar shop i found out offers a class for begining smokers and includes a 25 piece sampler with sign up for free. ya'll have any advice on humidor care? or maybe the proper way to light a cigar? i know that sounds stupid, but almost everyone i light burns wrong, like a spear point instead of the right way of even consistant burning.

Go to the New Gorilla Forum and make an introduction, then read the "stickies", then try searching. Lots of good information in here if you are willing to do a little reading. Humidors, lighting all questions can be answered if you look a little, most of the answers to little questions like the ones you asked are in the "stickies".

for a mild to medium smoke, look at the Monticristo Whites or try the Oliva Serie G. Both are very easy smokes.

Trust me brother when I say this...it's NOT pointless, because I promise you that it won't stay at only 5 or 6 cigars for long at all. The slope is slick and fast...one great ride.

The stickies are a great start. On your 'pointed burn'... you are smoking too fast. One puff per minute and see if that helps. Also, google Cigar Basics or Lighting a cigar. You'll find lots of resources very quickly.

lots of good adcive brothers, thanks a bunch. and keep sending your fav cigars my way. i went and tried the montecristo white, awesome smoke. and my dad let me try one of his sopranos.. thanks a bunch guys.

I would like to recommend the Don Tomas Clasico (check CI for good pricing) and the Punch Maduro or EMS (check JRs for good pricing) these are not to complex, they're affordable and they're consistant. welcome BTW
