A note to the folks I've been bombing lately

Alpha Silverback
A lot of the sticks I've been sending out lately came from Edisonbird. When he had to quit the cigars, he made me a deal on the Edison-a-dor and his stash. He also, years ago, gave me my first Cuban cigar. It was an SLR PC and they remain my favorite to this day, six years later. When I was in the middle of a divorce, and broke, he still gifted me cigars. From the time I started smoking cigars seriously, he showed me that there was more to this than taking a smoke. He showed me that it was a life experience that was to be shared, and also showed me the joy that could be had in that sharing. It's in that spirit and experience that these cigars have found their way to you.
So, when you're smoking them, do me a favor and thank Edisonbird, not me. And, take a second to say a little prayer for him and his wife. He may have put that very smoke in your hand. He has a way of touching people, even those who have never met him.
Thanks,
Radar

Never had the opportunity to meet him, but reading back though posts, its quite obvious he is not only knowledgeable, but generous and a hell of a guy. Good sense of humor too. I'll keep them in my prayers.

Words of wisdom for all LOTL. Ode to Edisonbird.

My prayers and heartfelt wishes go out to him.

Radar,

That is an awsome tribute and I am sure from what I have read it is also the way he would want it...Our thoughts and prayers go out to this Giant among Gorillas and his family.

Radar,

Never had the chance to meet him, never had the chance to hold his Cigars, never had the honor posting on his thread...
I learned, met people and open up not just my knowledge about cigar when I start joining CS. but something more far and deeper than smoking the best habanos, but to share it with to not just ordinary people, but to somebody you know, somebody who understand sharing something that you love so much. I don't know if there is a very expensive cigar and smoke by yourself alone, better than smoking the cheapest one with all your friends and a good conversation and laugh...
I'll Pray for Him Radar.

PS. I'm not really good in writing Amigo, I hope you understand what I felt after reading your thread.

Salud!

edisonbird has passed the torch on to you, radar. his knowledge is still being passed down whenever someone sets up an "Edison-a-dor". you own the original, i made a copy.

let him know it was a pleasure to smoke some of his cigars and we all thank him for his generousity.

hope he and his wife can make a rebound.

The Mrs. and I send our heartfelt best wishes to Edisonbird and his family. Well said my friend.

Very heartfelt post. I never had the pleasure, but he must be a helluva guy to inspire such wonderful words.

Great post radar. As a relative newbie, I have not had the chance to meet Rick. Reading his posts, I hope i do some day. A great BOTL and fellow sailor. I see he still checks in here now and then, I hope things are getting better for Rick and his wife.

I just researched his threads, and although I haven't had the pleasure of interacting with him his last thread brought a deep sad feeling to me. I hope that they are both doing the best they can right now.

Nice words Radar.
Edisonbird and his family are always on this bird’s mind.
"Birds of a feather flock together"

I think DsrDog said it well. My prayers will go out for him and I will be thinking of both of your kindness when I light up tonight.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but i did see some of his posts, and he was a very good Gorilla. He and his family will be in my prayers :)

I'm glad you made a post about Edisonbird and his wife. There is so much I want to say. But I'll only offer this up. For those who haven't read any of his posts or replies to posts please do a search and read some. Not only will you learn from one of the best, you'll get a chuckle or two. He and his wife are in my thoughts. I think of them daily.
