Like most of you, my shipments from C-Bid via DHL have been erratic. Some come early and some come several days late. I emailed customer service and asked if they could ship all future orders by USPS. I got a message back saying they can't commit to one carrier as they use the one that will get pick up the order fastest when it's ready. I did notice that my winnings that shipped yesterday went via USPS, though. Maybe they listened.

one way to guarantee USPS is to get a PO box -- they have to use USPS then. hey used to give you a choice. for an extra dollar or fifty cents an order, you could guarantee USPS....
 
^^^I think they do that on purpose, give you a date knowing they are going to beat it by a day. I use Famous and Holts and have no worries.

Have you guys ever got something off c-bid and it be on backorder? Got some stuff shipped to me and when I didn't see my 5er of RP edge in the box, looked at the invoice and it said on backorder?? Still waitin.
 
Cbid changed me to USPS from DHL after DHL left a package on my porch (in west philly) that got stolen and cbid had to send another one... I think they'll change it for you if you give a good reason.
 
At the moment CBid is on my crap list. They shipped suff to an incorrect address (my old one) and even had the gall to charge me 10 bucks to change the address the day before it shipped.


it still went to the wrong address.
 
I asked them to use only UPS!!! They have complied for the last 6 months. It is ON TIME every time too now!!! DHL sucks!
 
Im a UPS fan, the driver in my area knows me from high school. So when he gets my gars on his route I get them early. Very early. Also if im not home he is nice enough to drop the package off at the rental office.

Yes btw, i do give him some sticks when i get a big order. Gotta love that quick time.!

I won a fiver of Don Pepin Blues this week. Went out on Thursday via USPS and received 'em today (Saturday). I'm thinking if the order was larger it might have gone off to a different carrier......the box the sticks came in barely fit in my mailbox.

almost the samething thing happened to my first DHL delivery. But i think the DHL driver stole my package. We live in a very nice neighborhood, and none of the neighbors said the DHL truck came.(Retired). Cbid replaced the cigars, and all my deliveries have been on time and left in the same spot as the DHL man said he left them. The only problem i have with UPS is that my packages show up in town on friday and set around in the UPS hub till monday. I was thinking of talking to one of the UPS stores that are open on Saturday and see if i can have them shipped their and pick them up myself.

That is odd. I had the same problem with DHL and wanted only USPS also. When I called Cbid they were awesome. She changed my profile to ONLY use USPS. The only thing I had to do different was purchase insurance on all orders over $50. Only $2.00 so I didn't care.

Maybe I got the request in just in time before they changed it.

They survive because they are financed by the German Post office. They use their monopoly on first class mail to finance the package delivery side of their company. Basically it doesn't matter if they make any money now - they are just trying to get market share. (My brother used to work for them)

As a rule, if the package is small or under 1 lb - I use USPS, just because they are the cheapest. If it is larger than 1 lb, or if I need to insure the package, I ship via UPS.

However I have found that UPS is the easiest to deal with, and the most reliable. If I am expecting an important package, and I know I won't be at home, I call UPS and they hold my package for pick-up at their local building.

My first few shipments from cbid went smoothly, the last one hit Fresno one day, then the tracking showed the same package arriving in Sacramento 3 different day....it did finally arrive on the day it was suppoded to, by why did it sit 2 extra days?:ss

Yep. My first CBid spree had something on backorder. I totally missed that, and was surprised when I got a new shipment notification when the backordered item was shipped. I checked my invoice and sure enough, I'd missed it. (It was a 5er of something I didn;'t really care about, so I wasn't paying much attention when I got my first shipment.)

I e-mailed them and asked if I could get mine shipped via USPS and they said that was fine, no problem. Since then I've received every shipment via USPS. I'd call them and tell them you cannot accept DHL because you're not home to sign for them, that worked for me. :tu
