A "Thank-You" from Henry...

He's an old fart.

He doesn't have much nice to say about anybody.

But somehow, he's found a soft spot in his heart for CS BOTLs & SOTLs.

I cut work early (as so many have today), and stopped down at Henry's shortly after my wife had been down to get his signature on one of the last remaining "Certificates of Issue" for his Special Edition sets.

We lit up a robusto, and talked. That's when "it" happened.

"It" is when a tear rolled out of his left eye, and he said, "You got some good folks up there in that 'Club'.... I like their kind, and I'd kinda' like to keep in touch with them."

That's Henry's way of saying "Thank You!"
 
Man thats kewl Steve. I know he has a fond spot in our hearts. The tools you sent us are awesome and I just like looking at them, especially knowing the effort and being a little of him going into each of them. Merry Christmas Henry!
 
Henry likes the Prine tunes....

His favorite phrase?

"Everybody wants to feel like they're wanted..."

Tell Henry we like to hear whats going on in his life too.Also the wife and i love John Prine and have seen him live a few times.We'll play Bruised Orange and think of him(Henry) tonight...Merry Christmas Henry,you and the wife too Steve...:)

Sure! Henry is kind of a "throwback."

Tonight, he's wishing his bride was still alive.

Tonight, he's probably wishing that he'd done a few less bad things, and a few more good things.

Tonight, I think that many of us think the same sorts of thoughts.

As Henry would say... "PERIOD!!!"
 
Henry reminds me of my "Grandpa Gibby". He was a man of few words and when he was talking you had best be listening because you were going to miss an important life lesson.

CAT-MAN,

It's been Henry's great pleasure to be a part of the CS "community."

At first, he was hesitant about what he calls "this internet thing." Over time, he's come to enjoy printouts of your posts, and to trust CS members.

He still "doesn't get" the idea of the internet. For example:

I told him I'd email a guy who wanted a set of his "Classics."

He asked me, "How much postage we got'ta pay for that email thing?"

My greatest fear is that Henry will follow through on getting a computer for himself! GOOD GOD! This would be like handing a four year-old kid a loaded 457-magnum and telling him to "go outside and play!"

Our Christmas wishes go back to you! Enjoy your family, and enjoy your friends, and enjoy your cigars!!!!!!!
