Anejo porn? How 'bout some Pepin porn!

Everyone (me included) has been talking about their pursuit of the elusive Anejos, but today while I was finishing up some Christmas shopping, I stopped in one of the B&Ms that I frequent just to see if they had anything new in stock. I had no intention of purchasing anything, especially since I've spent too much in the last month on cigars (mainly Anejos), but when I walked into the humidor and looked where the Pepin/Padilla/Cabaiguan/Tatuaje stock is kept, I saw them!!! A whole box of Padilla 1932s in all three sizes!!! Well, you guys and gals knows what happens next. The credit card comes out and I start grabbing sticks. Actually, I was pretty good because I only bought two at $12 apiece, but then I started talking to one of the owners and I was telling him about the Cabaiguan Belicoso Finos that I smoked the other night. I told him about the draw problems and he took me back into the humi and gave me a Cabaiguan Robustos Extra for free to make up for the draw problem with the Beli Finos.

So anyway, here are pics of the 1932s I picked up. The pictures don't do them justice, especially since you can't smell them.

Well done, with all the fuentes I have bought recently, I have forgotten how much I love Pepin's.

You will have to let me know what you think of these. I am a little afraid to get some after trying the padilla miami's. The miami's were way too strong for me, I don't like cigars with that much body.

On a side note, I recently picked up some of the new tatuaje nuevitas jibaros, these cigars come with an unfinished foot, so they have loose tobacco coming out the end. When I lit one up, it had the best smell I have ever gotten from a cigar, it smelled like I was smoking a pipe. :D The cigar was pretty good as well, different flavor profile from the havana VI and the series P. They are also a little cheaper than the regular brown label tatuajes, at less than six dollars per stick.

The only problem, when I asked Pete Johnson about these (as I have only found them at one place online), he said the factory can no longer make them for him. So basically, they are shipping out the boxes that were already rolled and that is going to be it.

Will try to post some pictures later on tonight or tomorrow, they are really cool looking with the unfinished foot.

Sound like backwoods... :r

JK. Backwoods are the only gas station smoke I can stand anymore, and it's been a year since I've had one. I'm not even sure if I'd still like even those. :D

Aaron, lets see some pics when you have a chance! I havent been able to find those around here, although there are similar ones from other rollers.

I saw those last time I was in the B&M but they were right next to the Anejos where they usually showcase the latest arrivals. Once I saw the Anejos I totally forgot about 'em! I am kicking myself now. I can get back there Friday, I hope there are still some left!

Where did you see them online, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks! :w

www.dukecitycigars.com - when I asked, they had about 30 of each left in singles. They HAD a box of the jibaro No.2's, but that was sold. ;)

If you end up getting something from them and have never ordered there before, let me know (I can refer you). I have been told it is good to sign up for their newsletter as they have discounts. Also, if you refer someone, I think you might get a discount as well. hint hint ;) :r

Will try to post some pictures tomorrow morning, they are some pretty cigars.

My b/m had the 1932's yesterday. I picked one up $16-$22 a stick. You know it tasted a lot like a pepin blue label to me.

I just ordered 10 of the tatuaje nuevitas jibaros #2's - I'll review once they rest for two weeks. Thanks for the tip!! :w :w :w :w :w

I actually have gotten some more information about the nuevitas jibaros, it turns out they are not actually blended by Pepin, they were made by Pete Johnson before he started working with Pepin. As I mentioned before they have been discontinued and are no longer being produced.

I smoked a #1 this morning and it has some really nice flavor, a little more one-dimensional but still very good. All in all, a very good cigar, but not really Pepin porn.
