Well, another bar my club frequents killed cigar smoking last night. So I walked out and told them on the way out I wouldn't be back. I now have to check out 2 others in the area. I do have one real close by but the enviroment is sketchy.... Too many different players in the bar, tension in the air for those who know how to recognize it. So, I now have a quest....
 
I have a deck... Prob is i like to hang with my Brothers.... And I would rather order my wings than make them :) But it's not all bad. Think of the bars and smokes I'll have to go to in order to find the new watering hole. My main br is still ok for the evenings, this was the night time type bar.
 
I went through that a few years ago. One place said that people in the parking lot complained, so they banned it. Then another place wont let people do it until after 4. Luckily a place up the street allows it and the bartenders tend to join in with me while they are working. Their response when someone complained, "well then f'ing leave." Thats my type of bar.

I hate the smell of cigarettes, but cigars smell amazing to me and just plain get a bad rap.
 
Good luck. I found one last night that I can smoke at. But it's one of those uppity bars in the middle of WV though.

When I quit cigs I was up to 3 packs a day.... I coud't stand the smell of them if I wasn't smoking. I was anal about the ashtray being cleaned. Weird.

wingzone delivers! there is always take out. I know it sucks, but if it comes to that at least you have the desk AND wings.

Wish I had a place like that around me, one of the places I loved that lets you throw peanuts on the floor in the bar area, and has some good steak subs just recently added a little plaque that says no cigars... :hn I've not been back...didn't even eat there. Another one doesn't allow them in the main bar or pool area, though allows them in the martini lounge...so that works.
 
Also I recommend bringing the bartender a cigar. Even offering one to them really gets them on your side when other patrons are around. Every now and then I offer the local bartenders some nc's and cc's, it cut by bartab in half. :tu
 
Look on the bright side...you'll save a ton of money by drinking your own liquor. More cigars!
 
Same thing happened here, but enough customers complained about the ban, so the owner built a deck/patio for us all to smoke there. Now the patio is more popular than the lounge during nice weather for both cigar smokers and non-smokers alike, go figure ;)

I hail from Bad News so I def. smell what you are stepping in with regards to "tension". Hampton Roads has really lost any of its charm IMO, and I was glad to get out. Its def. tough to find a bar you can hang out in without generally being aware of how safe you are. Good luck to you.
 
Any private clubs in your area? I belong to a few here in PA and that's where I smoke when I go to a bar. Beer is cheaper and the membership dues are not bad at all.

Well then, you may know the Cactus.... And Bay Haven accross the street no cigars (no loss there though).
