Any v-cut fans out there?

I got one in a bomb a few weeks ago (thanks premium pass) and I used it once. It was a nice change. I'm definitely gong it try it on some of my "go to" sticks to see if I really prefer it before buying a really nice one.

Never used one...maybe I'll ask at the B&M for them to cut it with one when I buy the next single.

I picked up an older one like 68TriShield's above.
It ain't silver but it does a nice job on smaller ring gauge sticks.
I love it cuz it dosen't destroy the cap.:tu

:tpd: I do not own a V-cut, but when I am at the S&M or around someone who has one, I prefer it. Reminds me that I need to find one.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good V-cut? or is cheap the way to go?

The S&M????? damn....cigars and whips and gags....hmmmm
Does your significant other approve?

Well I'm definitely starting to learn that there is a cut for everything out there. I started with the cheapie plastic guillotine cutters then saw one with a combo guillotine/v-cutter and started using that. A friend gave me a bullet punch and I really liked it as well. Then I got my Xikar which I absolutely love...

That said. My yardgars don't handle a full cut well. Loose fillings start to work their way free and it just gets uncouth. I think I'm going to switch back to either a punch or a v-cut for those.

I think the cigar will now dictate the cutter I use. I love the Xikar though. Is there an equivalent v-cutter?

Atlantic Cigar has a nice one with a wood handle. Works very well. I use it from time to time. Really depends on what I'm smoking.

Here's a Sterling Silver one I got in a trade with a lady who has been awol for quite a while...Thanks again Banu :)

This is great for the Lanceros and smaller rings.

i also like using it for smaller rg like lanceros, it works great. here is a link to one that works very well and lasts a long time: http://www.bestcigarprices.com/cigar-cutters-cigar/ its the wood one

What is the reasoning behind the V-cut?
Some people like it because since the opening is smaller, the smoke (and therefore the nicotine) is more concentrated. I like it because you only cut a small wedge out of the cap, and you don't run the risk of cutting off too much of the cap and either having the wrapper unravel or having a very loose draw.

I used to use the $1 Cbid V-Cut exclusively for a long time, but picked up a Palio guillotine after seeing Marc at a herf earlier this year. Although I still like the V-Cut, I always have my Palio with me now, so I haven't gone back to it.

Unlike the guillotine, the middle ground for V-cuts doesn't seem to exist. You either find a cheap one or a $100 cutter... nothing between them.
