Anyone a member of local Cigar Lounges?

I have seen some B&M's that have Cigar Lounges that you have to be a member to enjoy. I was wondering if anyone here participated in those type of deals and if they thought it was worth the $$?

Most B&M's that I know of have let you smoke for free. Not only that, they provide free coffee, etc. There are even a few in Ybor City that offer free wine!

I was at Holt's in Philly last week and they have a hostess that serves the free beverages.

I don't belong to a private club, but I went as a guest with a friend who is a member (Pheasant Cigars in Las Vegas). The place is very nice and the owner is friendly and helpful. They also have smokes for sale in their walk-in humidor, but I found their selection pretty limited. A membership of $75 per month includes a personal locker for your smokes (temperature and humidity controlled, of course). The place is over 20 miles from my home, so I decided that I would not go there often enough (given the price of gasoline these days) to justify the expense. I go to a B&M about five miles from my house that may not be as plush, but there is no membership fee and there is a large selection of sticks, from low end to premium.

I can actually be found at that B&M quite regularly...and the only thing I disagree with your statement is the selection...that humidor is a boutique smoker's heaven....Full line of Tatuaje, Illusione (any available vitola is definitely dependent on Dion's availability of sticks...) Don Pepin Garcia, Vegas Cubanas, several Padillas, Litto Gomez, 601 and a lot of premium stuff that is difficult to find elsewhere in Vegas. As far as the membership part of, I understand the need and want for it with the clients that are the regular crowd there... I really like Pheasant Cigars a lot...

We do not have a club here, but we have one full-service B&M that acts as our club. He has about a half-dozen nice chairs and a big TV tuned to CNN or Fox and always has a pot of coffee going. He jokingly calls the 10-15 hard-core regulars his "board of directors."

What he does also do is he has an e-mail system where he notifies customers of sales, events, etc. He e-mails hundreds of people on behalf of our Cigar Club (Capital City Cigar Club) which meets twice a month at different locations. We have another local restaurant who offers a cigar dinner once a month with a set price, wine and drink options and he sends the e-mails out on those.

With regard to the initial post-I'd kill to have a club like that and would most definitely rent space. Having a "safe-haven" to smoke is important. I can retire in 6 years and I've even done some speculating into what it would take to open something like that....stay tuned!

I stumbled upon a membership Cigar Lounge in Chattanooga, TN one evening. I went online looking for a store, and found Burns Tobacco only a few miles from my hotel. Well, Burns is part of a larger operation at Chattanooga Billiards Club. I had no idea.

I went into the humidor, picked out a stick, and asked if it was OK to smoke in the store (they had some sweet barber chairs set up around a television). They said fine, but they were going to close in just a few minutes -- I didn't even make note of the time. But, the store manager asked who I was and said, "come with me." He guided me through the billiards club to a nice smoking lounge in the back.

This room had passcode entry only, and was very comfortable. The members inside were welcoming and made me feel at home. There was even a Rocky Patel representative there that evening to cap things off. I spent a couple of hours with some new friends, then headed back to the hotel to do more work.

I will frequent the store again when I am in the area. I won't expect to be invited back to the lounge again, but they earned my future business by being so accommodating to a stranger in the area. Great store. Great hosts.

Last year I bought the membership to the lounge at Cigars and More in Addision, Tx. I paid a year in advance and got a 15% discount. What I liked was a cigar locker which was 12 x 12. Not really for cigars but to store liquor and therefore did not have to carry it around or worry what was available to me. They offered all the set ups, water and ice. They have two poker tables and a 72 inch flat screen for sports and video games. I really enjoyed it and probably would have renewed had I not moved for business. Everyone is a little different. I liked the separation from the rest of the store and those that were in the lounge were there for the same purpose you were (common interest). Plus anytime we were there we could count on the owner stopping by for an extended visit, which allowed me a lot of access to knowledge on a number of fronts.

In short, they are all different and if you are interested, look around first and hope you can run across something that fits your needs

Good Luck tt:cb

Yea I thought my place was the Cigar Club in Tallahassee. Enough of you come over and hang out I'm thinking $30.00 a month fee. I'll provide free water. :r :r:tu

I just found one here in Fresno, called Cigar Mas Fino, http://www.cigarmasfino.com/, and went there with a fellow CS BOTL. They only charge if you would like to rent a locker, otherwise, you are free to smoke away. They have a great selection, and just got the right to sell God of Fire. Most importantly, is that the owners are absolutely awesome. They are nice, very informative, and not condescending, if you know what I mean. The have monthly events, this month Alec Bradley will be there with a MAXX event.

Does anyone know of a cigar lounge in Northeast Ohio that hasn't been killed off by the smoking ban?

I have not been there but a few people report good things about this place:

Too bad I'm in Mentor. All we have around here are head shops that also happen to have a humi, and not a well maintained one at that. I'm just looking for somewhere to go when next winter hits. Of course, by then I'll be living in Hiram full time.

I used to be a member of a great Lounge in Framingham, Ma. It had all of the perks,,,humi locker, big screen w/leather chairs, etc. At that time it was about $250 a year. Have been to many other cigar lounges where they range from free to almost $1000 per year,,,free is better. At the end of the day it's about the cigar and the people you meet.
