Went up Thursday morning with 3 of my friends for the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Came home last night, and I must be getting old because that was way too damn long in Vegas. My apologies in advance for the camera phone pics and to Guitarman for not stopping by!
We stayed at the Strat, and their cigar friendly sports book area was our home for a couple hours at a time. We'd grab a stick, some cups and a growler and head down to have a smoke. The following reviews are based off of memory...and to say that I was drinking during smoking would be an understatement
First victim: CAO Brazilia
I thought this one was pretty good, nice and smooth with a great burn and solid flavor. 2nd CAO I've ever had, and it was the best (haha). 3.5/5
Second Victim:
Bolivar something-or-other from a sample pack. No pic Burned great and tasted OK for half, then it turned ugly. Incredible bitterness with a little ammonia. Would try an aged one in the future perhaps. 1.5/5
Third Victim:
Partagas something-or-other
This time we moved to an empty section of the casino and played penny slots for 2 hours, or long enough to nub this thing. 1st Partagas, and definately won't be my last. Great burn, even flavor and great construction...even though my crappy cutter got a piece of it. 4/5
Fourth Victim:
Oliva Series V Torpedo, no pic, and oh boy I loved this thing. It cut right through my good beer buzz and quickly gave me a good nico buzz, which was nice The fact that these are under $6 is insane. I gotta get more. 4.5/5
Uh oh, looks like Three Card Poker was good to me at some point, so I won't feel guilty buying something here:
Ah Casa Fuente...it's so insanely overpriced...yet worth every penny. I went straight for the caged section, where I had several choices of Opus X and God of Fire sticks. I chose a Opus X Lancero for the low price of $25. By far the most I've ever spent on a cigar (that's a good thing right?)
