Bad news/good news

The bad news is I fell off of a ladder last night and landed on my back--ouch.

The good news is that, while I'm at home resting this morning, my wife calls me from her work to tell me I had a cigar delivered there--the FREE H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon.:ss

That sucks about your incident with the ladder and gravity, but I was cringing about your good news thinking you were going with some "I saved money by switching to Geico" joke.

Congrats on the free cigar. I signed up for one a few weeks ago, but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe you can enjoy it from a seated/non-moving position.

I hurt my back a few years ago playing baseball (slid into 3rd..knocked down the third baseman...was safe :D...but pinched a nerve). It got pretty bad there for a while...all they could do was give me watered down muscle relaxers (I wanted the real stuff:ss).

It would act up for a few months after that...(one time while I was in Chicago in O'Hare airport)...of all the times to not be able to walk...

The back cost me a rough frisking:hn...but got me (and my family) sent to the front of the security line...(after planes were delayed for 2 days because of snow).

So sorta like you're saying...bad news/good news. You win some and you lose some lol.

Good luck getting better :D

Dude GT isn't doing THAT bad this year. No reason to try and end it now.:r

Sorry to hear that......but you may have some time to smoke on your hands here.:tu

Hope you get back on your feet soon.

Are you suggesting the two are related? I'm still waiting on my free Upmann. Do you think I have to . . . . :chk

Hope you didn't damage anything and that you feel better.

After a good day's rest, I have to say I think everything is going to be ok. I woke up this morning with most of the pain having subsided. I wondered if it would flair up after the Ultram wore off. Very surprisingly, the bad pain did not return. I am mostly sore from the lower back (where I landed) all the way up to my neck and shoulders, but I think that will be the extent of it.

I avoided a potentially bad injury. I fell from about six feet up and landed in an area with stumps and large branches. Fortunately I didn't hit any of that.

Lesson learned--I knew the ladder wasn't stable, but I figured it would "okay." It's not smart to take risks like that.

Thanks for the replies, humor, and encouragement. :tu

Not nearly as stupid as this maneuver from a few years ago...

I guess ever cloud does in fact have a silver lining. I'm going on the assumption that had you not fallen off the ladder than you wouldn't have recieved that cigar for several more weeks. :D

Hope you feel better.

Get some rest and get well soon.

But, while resting smoke that dam cigar and enjoy. :tu
