Band glue and cigar repairs

I heard they use the same "gum/glue" to seal up the caps and to attach the bands onto cigars, is this true?

I also heard that the "gum/glue" is good when used for patching up minor wrapper damage on cigars? I need to get some if this is true!

Pick up some "liquid pectin" at your local grocer (usually with the canning & jarring supplies).

Liquid pectin is great at repairing wrappers

I have heard this from several BOTLs, Mark being the most recent.
