That would be me. A few weeks ago the guy at my shop told me about them, so I picked a few. I only smoked 2 and enjoyed them enough I went back and bought a box of the robustos for $63. Construction is a little on the rougher side and the draw is a bit loose but the flavor more then makes up for it, not to mention a price tag of less then $3/stick. I want to try a few more to give a more formal review, but my initial stance is give them a try:tu. Great for a yard gar, working on the car or anything like that. I was pretty buzzed when I smoked my last one but it reminded me of a cheaper version of Padron 2000/Ashton VSG kind of flavor profile mix. Hope this helps.

I got a box of the Benchmade Cazadores yesterday and smoked one last night. Good draw and burn, very tasty - I nubbed it. Very good for <$2.50.

These are mixed filler correct?

Any ash problems? A lot of the "sandwich" style cigars drop ash all over me and I hate that.

The ash definitely didn't hold on as long as with a long filler cigar, but I didn't have any trouble with it falling off unexpectedly or dropping little bits of ash all over me.

I was suprised to see my B&M carrying them, and at less than $3 a stick I had to pick a couple up. I didn't know that these were made for Ashton by Pepin, so you have some great names behind this cigar.

Not a bad cigar for what it is. I'd consider buying a box.

You wouldn't know it was a Pepin made cigar as the box says Ashton.

I enjoyed the one I had at a B&M, especially considering the price.

I am smoking on right now. This is a mixed filler cigar. The ash does not hold, but the draw and burn are flawless. The taste is pretty good for the price as well. A nice meduim/med-full cigar with subtle earthy/woody flavors. I believe this is Ashton's replacement of the Savoy cigar...which is GREAT because I hated the Savoy.

If you can find them, this is worth the small amount of money they charge for them :tu

Wingfan 13 was kind enough to do a split and I got several in today. I'll burn one after dinner. They DO look nice too.

Was this at the Humidour? I was just in there last week and didn't notice them. I saw the Pepin blacks but didn't feel like getting a stool for a closer look. Why the hell would they put those on the top shelf, trying to get people to overlook 'em?

Dont worry about the price or anything else....just light one up and smoke it! When you consider taste, it is a goooooooood smoke! When you throw in the price, it makes it a great smoke! And, when you consider the maker, it is an outstanding smoke. So for taste, price, and maker, how can you go wrong!
I would give a review, but, my palate doesnt discern notes of wild strawberries or mocha flavored bean coffee, with hints of curvaceous blondes...it either tastes good, burns well, and leaves me wanting another or I chuck it! This cigar does it for me!

They are not with the other pepins. If you do a 180 from looking at the pepins, they are on the top of that shelf. I think that shelf is all the cheap smokes, like Benchmade, Spirit of Havana, Dominica Republique and National. I picked up a Cazadore and a Robusto. Their box price isn't too bad either, with in 5 box of online vendors.

I think they took pepins out of the eyezone because the Nubs came in, and also Camacho and did an event. They give these guys the prime space. That space where the Pepin, Nubs and Camachos are seems to change pretty regularly. The Tatuajes use to be where the Nubs are .... how could they!
