Best mild buck a stick?

I would heartily recommend the Reserva # 7 from the Cigar Factory Outlet. At .55 cents a cigar it cannot be beat at ten times that price.

or even better, the blend #7 RESERVA.

cheap stick and a good smoke. I could see it being worth $2 a stick. but it's $0.55 shipped! (in a wheel of 50)

check out the txmatt's cheap smokes thread, LOTS of good cheap stuff.
I dont get cheap stuff for the nonsmokers....I smoke cheap stuff myself. :r

I must be a dummy, I can't find these. I looked, but no joy. Could you help a Brother out? I can't resist a deal!

If you're ordering from CFO, pick up a bundle of the "not a short story" smokes. I think it was $33 for a bundle of 25. Mine are still a little wet, but if they smoke anything like they do now dry, well worth the price :tu

edit: might be a mild leaning towards a light medium smoke. definitely affordable for a handout stick if you haven't smoked them all.

Well, I made it there, and beside the fact that their website is, well, let's say minimalist, they do have some intriguing items for sale. Of course I ordered a few things, and if they are anything like their notices here, I am sure that they will be a place that earns some of my hard earned cigar money.

Maybe I'll set up a long term aging box for their stuff. Then of course I will have an entirely new category of cigars to seek out and buy: cigars not really ready for prime time - buy today and smoke in 2010. I think I like the idea.

The Free Cuba is made by Tropical and is a pretty good Fuma.(ie sandwich) Others for the price are La Vieja Habana by Drew Estate...they come in different wrappers. Gran Habano has a Fuma as well...they also have a long filler cigar the GR Special which goes for about 2 bucks.

For mild sticks, you could also check out Marsh Wheeling Stogies (the original) or Travis Club Senators with Connecticut Shade wrapper. They are machine made and less than a buck. But they are all tobacco.
Love these. Would love to give someone these as a blind taste test and see what they think.

I've had some Famous Dominican 1000 coronas for about a year and have shared them twice recently and both times they were enjoyed by the other person. The construction and burn are OK and they are mild and smooth, especially with some age on them.

I'm sure you can find a decent cigar for a buck, but if you are willing to go up to $2 per stick, then I highly recommend Gispert. That's my favorite 2 buck stick.

Slightly OT, but how on Earth is anyone to order from that section of Famous' catalog where they have their private label brands? They have at least 25 different blends, and the descriptions give you nothing to go on to make a choice between them. I landed a bundle of them at a ridiculous price from the devil site, and then went to their catalog to get some more when they proved a good cheap stick for moochers, and even me. (Great, now we are back to the topic) They were Honduran 200 Robustos, and after a couple months forgotten inside one of my cabinets, they are really pretty good, and my winning bid was $11 for 20 of them. No band, but your typical moocher will never miss it anyway, and I will never be embarrassed by the quality of this stick if the moocher turns out to know what he's smoking. I think they are about double that or a little more to order them straight from Famous.

But (back to OT rant) how in the world is anyone to decide whether to order the Dominican 100 or 4000 or the Nicaraguan 600 or the Honduran 2000, or whatever? They give you almost no clue. Yet they clearly sell a ton of these smokes, because this section of their catalog keeps getting bigger and bigger, as they add more and more blends. At least J&R pretends their private label brands are like something else you might know, so they give them phoney names of popular sticks to compare them to. These names bear no resemblance to the vitolas they are selling, but at least it gives you something to hope for, when you take that leap of faith and order some.

But Famous? Hey Zaretzky, wise up and give those things some names, or at least get someone on your payroll to smoke some and write a review, or at least a decent description. These smokes are not half bad, and if you got on your game you could give J&R (and Altadis) a run for their money, instead of running such a poor second to their magnificent marketing machine.

I hear ya. The way I got started trying the Famous bundles was a friend of mine had been smoking them for about 10 years and swore by them. So I started buying 5ers and bundles of them and trying them out. Some are very good and some are downright awful. These days, I keep some of the Nic 1000 and Nic 3000s in the coolerdor. The Dominican bundles don't really appeal to me anymore but, I wouldn't hesitate to give someone who didn't smoke regularly a Dom 2000, 5000 or the Nic 1000. Hope this helps.

Being a cheap cigar smoker, I have tried almost everything on your list. IMO none of the ones I tried were worth reordering. Grab yourself a bundle of these. I pounce on them every time they come up on Cbid. PM me your addy and I'll send you one to try.

Gumbydamit is certainly a student of Gorilla math.

Not only did I get one of the El Caudillos as promised, it had 4 traveling companions!

Can't wait to dig in. Thanks a bunch - RG on it's way!

My future guests will thank you as well. I finally got around to trying those Albion's I had. Not so great, and I think I might have sent one out in a Trade. Sorry to whoever ends up with that one!

Cigar Factory Outlet has some good bargain bundles and wheels. I have had the Blend #7's and have a wheel of the Reserva #7's coming. They also just added a bunch more $0.50 smokes. These are some decent smokes fresh and should age pretty well. :tu:tu

I does. At least it's a start. I sure could never consider buying them all - got to narrow the choices down. They sure do have a great price point.

I ordered some Famous Dominican 4000's before I really "knew better" and got the free bundle of Value Line 100's they throw in. They aren't "great" cigars but as said after a little time they are OK, for me anyway (very mild and one dimensional, but sometimes that's OK). I actually have liked the Value lines better than the 4000s (maybe those are some of the awful ones Rick mentioned?) I did have 2 out of the 20 Value Lines that were plugged, but besides that no issues.
Haven't tried any of the Honduran or Nics yet.
Just put in another order today at Famous and went for the Dom 5000 corona and the Value Line Dom 200 corona maduro (maybe get some more flavor?).
With the 2 free bundles that makes 80 smokes for $57.98 shipped. Not bad, IF you like them, I do.

Im a d**k, the last time someone asked me for a cigar was a young lady who had too much to drink. She was smoking cigarettes like a junky.... I gave her a P-short and she tried to inhale it like a cigarette....
Pukey Pukey! :chk

I got a couple fivers of the 1876. They seem to be pretty consistent and I can grab 5'ers from the devil site for 3 bucks anytime.

And a wheel of the CFO Reserva number 7's. For about 60 cents a piece I don't see how they can be beat, but they might be a bit spicy for a real newbie.

I haven't smoked these but have smoked the toros and they're pretty darned good (for a natural):

http://www.cigarmonster.com/ good for today, Sunday 2-17-08 (changes every day) La Floridita Corona Gigante at $1.00

I bought a bundle of the toros for under a buck a stick a few months ago.

I like the La Floridita maduro belicos, too.
