Big Island of Hawai'i Herf?

demiurgic

Don't Worry, Be Happy.
Any botl's / sotl's here on the Big Island or neighboring islands?
Would love to plan a herf.
Rarely see cigar smokers here on the East side of the Isle.
aloha!

Numero Uno BOTL here on Oahu!

I have 2 friends who would be interested, I don't think we could fly out to BI though.
Good to see another Hawaii boy on here :D

We were there for a visit at the beginning of the year; wish we could have got together. We stayed in Kona, at the King K. We absolutely LOVED the island. I did not bring any cigars, but ended up buying some at Mother's, in Hawi (nice area). Very expensive.

Wish we lived there...

I'm originally from Hilo but now living in Oregon. Still got family back there and would love to go back and visit some day. People be too busy smokin' "other things" to be smoking cigars (and the "other things" are probably cheaper, too).

When I go back, I'll look you up and see if we can't get together a mini-herf.

Hey, for those on Oahu, what is a great smoke shop? I went to one on Ward, and it was pretty good; the owner said it was one of two places you can smoke-there and prison. I think it's called South Pacific or something. I went to another place just around the corner from Alamoana, and the selection was alright but the attendant didn't know anything. Just curious if there is a great spot or not. With all the tourists and rich folk, I figured there would be a mega-store on the level of JR, or great places like they have in Tampa.

awwwryte!

right now my only cigar buddy is the grand old man of Kalapana, uncle Robert Keli'iho'omalu, the larger than life Ambassador of aloha and I rarely see him.
Would be nice to meet up for a "Smoke In session" :w

Yes, that was south pacific pipe on Ward, awesome guy, I think his name was Dale? I haven't been there in a while, I miss the friendly atmosphere there.
There's another cigar shop call Cigar Cigar on king st. (south king st if IIRC), he used to allow smoking, I don't know about now due to the new smoking law. He has a pretty good selection, very nice walkin humi.

The other cigar shop you visited around Ala Moana on Atkinson st. is A-1 Tobacco of Hawaii, my fav shop so far, I totally agree about the attendants, the previous owner knew his stuff and used to travel to Cuba often, but I think he moved. I just like the selection and the attendants sometimes give me free stuff (cheapo lighters/cutters/stickers). They don't know much but they sure are friendly.

There used to be a cigar lounge in Kapolei called the Hideaway or something like that but now I think it's just a bar, again due to the new smoking law.
If you want to herf some day, you can come by my friends shop in Waimalu, I can pm you to let you know when we plan to herf again?

Yeah, I went to the place in Kapolei when I first got here...That was kind of sad. They actually had a good collection-some real top shelf stuff-but when he opened the humi (large case), everything was covered in mold (not plume-green). Sometimes moldy stuff is recoverable, but this actually smelled like mold. They had a box of Ashton VSGs that smelled like green bread after a couple of weeks. What a shame. I'll have to hit that place on King, though.

Ouch, that sucks! what a shame and what a waste. I've been wanting to go there but never had a chance to, I don't know if I'll go anymore.

And yes, nothing beats paradise!
