CAO

It is really no different than the brand of Beer that you like over other brands. I prefer Miller Lite but not all Miller products. I like Bud Select but not Bud Light. To say that the budweiser brand is "crap", to me is "crap". It does not suit my taste but that does not mean it is a poor product, just like a cigar. I like a lot of the CAO brand but not all of them suite my taste. I'm not a fan of the Gurkha line but I would not say their product is "crap", i just do not like the flavor profile of what i have tried. I love the reviews of all of the different cigars and cigar lines and some are spot on with my thoughts while some are totally different for me.

Enough of my opinion...

I'd say I'm a fan of CAO, but only to a degree. I love the Brazilia and I also enjoy the Mx2 and the Italia. However, I hated the Criollo, and was very meh on the Black.

I highly suggest a blind taste as well. You'd be very surprised what you do and don't like after that....

Ok, what am I missing here? I'm 0 for 2 on them. The Mx2 was just plain nasty and the Brazilia was "ok". I have a Gold in the box and I'm very hesitant to try. Could it be I just don't get into this brand? What's the general concenous on the CAOs?

Personally its not much of a brand I love too much. They have some good smokes that I smopke occasionally like the brazilia, italia, and Americas. But nothing really floats my boat or makes the everyday rotation. Decent once in awhile but nothing that knocks my socks off. :tu

Sounds like someone needs a little blind taste test action. I think you'll really be surprised by some smokes if you don't know what you're smoking. I too am also judgmental of labels. Hit me up with a PM if your interested and we can swap some bandless sticks.

We can do that. Pretty much most of what I'm smoking is a blind teat in some ways. Although the name on the bands can sound familiar from reading threads, I am still young to the hobby so it's all new to me.

I realize everyone is going to find a different gar that works for them, but I just seemed way off on what I thought was a good line. A few things I have figured out though, in most parts I like a earthy, spicsy and coffe tastes. Cameroon wraps seem to be a common theme in some cases also.

May appear by some posts that some might have taken the first post a little different than I meant. Generally as a whole when a large group likes product abc there might be a reason for someone not to like it. I'm having a blast trying the ones I get in trades and bombs. Stuff I'd never buy short of throwing a dart at the B&M humi to pick one because I'm still in the learning mode. Trades spook me a bit as I would hate to send a dog rocket by accident, now that would be embarrassing :hn

It would appear the with the CAOs I might not be alone in not finding one that has hit me right yet (like I mentioned I've had 2). I think as I learned from another educational thread it may be the soil, climate, etc maybe the CAOs are grown from.

I obviously ponder these heavy thoughts during the day because I have too much time on my hands.

Pretty much have stuck with the Gold Maduro and a Soprano from time to time. The rest I can take or leave. A lot has to do with personal preference and what you have had to eat or drink. Always try to have a full stomach and some handy alcohol, for I light up the maduro.

Always give a cigar a second chance, then if you dont like it move on to other brands.

I just gotta say that while I'm not a CAO fan, the Soprano's were not that bad. I do have a CAO crillio sitting and resting that I've been wanting to try. One last thing the America's got better with age, IMHO.

I have some what enjoyed the CAO line. That could be my newb sense of taste but The MX2 did nothing for me. The Croillo was the worst one I have tasted. It left this dusty feel in my mouth. Italia was and is my favorite on the line and I also liked the gold. I really want to try the CAO odyessy but haven't been able to find it.

The first MX2 I had was not that great. I let the others age in the hummi for a few months and it made a big difference, it was like a whole different cigar. I guess some things do get better with age. :cb

i had the italia that was not very good but the Gold is pretty good for a mild cigar. My faveorite CAO is the cameroon L Anniversaire

I really like CAO and have yet to have a bad experience with one of their cigars. They're overpriced for my daily budget so I've just tried them out at the local B&M.

I've had only one CAO, the CAO gold. It was horrible for the first half, while the second half mellowed out into an almost enjoyable smoke. This experience has not made me want to try CAO again. I do have a Soprano Associate in the humi, but that's just b/c I am a big Sopranos fan.

I smoked a L'Anniversaire that I got in a sampler from Tbain and thought it was a top tier cigar. At first I got the distinct flavor of those chocolate candies with the orange flavored filling. It had a strong nic buzz, too. Definitely a "smoke again" cigar for me.

i started in the CAO line and their anniversarias are good. i believe it has a cameroon wrapper but as for m most all the others leave something to be had.
