Care to narrow down my choices please?

I just started seriously collecting/smoking now that I have a humidor. I've got about 30 different singles to go through, many are doubles though so I don't base my judgement on just one stick. But the first few have not hit the mark, and I'd like to get some recommendations as opposed to relying on online reviews from reviewers/sellers with various intentions. I haven't been here long, but you guys seem trustworthy. :ss

What I'm looking for:
- Dark/Maduro wrapper, oily
- Full bodied smoke, dense and not dry( am I conveying this well? Like a dense wet smoke, not thin and dry)
- Complex flavors, not super bitter or overly spicy or roasty
- Preferably good in non-huge sizes(not looking for Churchills, but won't rule them out)
- Ages well ( if I can get this too its just a bonus, I want to buy a bunch to have on hand at all times and enough to age some to experience them then)
- Cost can vary ( if expensive I will pay the price but smoke less and vice
versa)

Of course I'll buy a few to see how I like them. Like I said, I would just like some recommendations to narrow down the search for my first 'go to' stick. Thanks guys.

Any LFD Ligero... 2x ligero sounds like a great choice to me!
May be a little dry though... one that could be wet....
mmMmmm.....
Rocky Patel decade? its not too full bodied.. not a real maduro.. but COULD do the job.. i dono man haha this is tough

Re: Narrow down my choices please?

For a cheap maduro, I like the Sancho Panza DM Quixote.  Lots of smoke, great taste out of the box.  I've never aged any though.

It's a short cigar too... 4.5 x 50 if i remember correctly.

Both good suggestions!!

Add the Joya de Nic. and the Diablo line!

Shawn

i would Go for the DIABLO! big time for the description..
but for the joya antonio... its pretty full bodied... dryer smoke, with a very base flavor 100% of the cigar. Doesnt develop much imo

The Diablo might hit the mark for you but I am thinking that you might like the La Gloria Cubana (LGC) Wavell Maduro. http://www.mikescigars.com has both the Dominican and Miami version. You might want to try them both and see what you think.
These are always good off the truck and age very well. Most sites have just the Dominican version if you want to start with that.

Thanks guys, I'll try to give those a shot. The only one I have in my humidor is the La Gloria Cubana Serie R, but haven't tried it yet. It is now on deck. :ss It certainly looks awesome.

The Don Pepin JJ is a good smoke. I would say try a Romeo y Julieta Reserve Maduro for a go to smoke. I love them things....

James.

When I read the description the first thing that popped in to my head... VSG. :tu Then again, that's usually the first cigar that pops into my head. :ss ~KD

The LFD Ligeros and Double Ligeros are great smokes.

Do yourself a favor and try the Taboo SFO also.
The SFO Robusto has a nice spice kick from start to finish.
The SFO Torpedo starts a little slow for the first 3/4" and then develops a beautiful rich flavor.
The big SFO 6x60 seemed a bit milder for me, but I've only burned one of them.

Rob can hook you up with a sampler and then you'll be hooked on them like a lot of the rest of us are. :tu

Carlos Torano 1959 Exodus Gold Torpedo. Last year was a top ten CA cigar. Great flavor and fits your preferences. Plus good price. If you don't end up buying these, at least try one if you get the chance.
