Evolving Lead Gorilla
Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Silver
Size: 4 7/8 X 52
Construction: Great! Tight and springy; consistent from foot to cap; smooth; slightly oily, cap is perfectly applied.

Wrapper: Cuban seed Criollo

WHERE: Smoked at a local B&M in Manistee
Michigan while watching college football. Had a breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast before smoking.

DRINK: Water & Coffee

Pre-Light Aroma: Smells pretty good. Not much spice at all. Has a tobacco/leather aroma. No surprises here.

Cut: Palio – of course.

Pre-Light Draw/Taste: Very firm. No pepper taste at all. Smooth draw, not tight at all, but not too much either. Taste is a lot like the Padron pre-light taste. This is to be expected considering the construction

LIGHT: Triple distilled butane from Z-plus Zippo insert

First impressions: Perfect draw, giving as much or as little as I would like to have. Nice amount of smoke. Has a sort of earthly nutty flavor to it, with hints of mocha which is complimented nicely by the coffee I’m drinking.

First 1/3: The earthly nutty flavor is very consistent. There is also a little bit of spice to this stick which is very enjoyable. It’s definitely a medium bodied cigar.

Second 1/3: Flavor is pretty consistent. There is also hints of leather added to the nutty spice this thing produces. Perfect burn so far requiring no touching up at all. Lots of smoke coming from this bad boy.

Final 1/3: Strength has remained consistent throughout. The spice has stayed the whole time and wasn’t over powering. The mocha taste that was stronger in the beginning has dies away a bit and the leather/earth/nutty flavor has stayed pretty consistent. Burn is perfect and the draw is more than I could ask for.

Final Comments: This cigar was a great medium bodied smoke with a lot of flavor to be offered. I’d suggest this to anyone who likes the Padron line. If you don’t like a bit of spice in your smoke, I’d stay away from this one, and if you do, this will be perfect for you.

Burn Time: 1 hour 37 Minutes

Nice review. :tu

These are a pleasant afternoon smoke. A bit mild and nutty for my tastes but a very well made cigar.

I have been working through a box of these. I used to think the 1959 Gold was my favorite but I more fond of the Silver.

Thanks for the great review. The Exodus 1959 - in all of its stripes - is one of my favorite sticks. I have three in my humidor right now.

Oh, Boy! One of my favorites. Got 3/4 box and some assorted singles in the humi. Great evening smoke with a nice drink!

Great Cigar...I picked a few of these on my recent vacation to Florida and it quickly became my "go to" cigar!:ss

Smoked one today. Excellent construction, excellent draw. Delicious medium body. So far none of the Exodus 1959s have disappointed! Great taste, great price.
This is easily a go-to smoke.
