Casillas Double Corona

Corona Gigante

Ann Coulter's Cabana Boy
Casillas Double Corona
50 x 6 1/2
Medium to medium plus
Wrapper: Cameroon, or Maduro
Filler Santo Domingo, Ecuadoran, Honduran, Nicaragua

I received a pack of three Casillas cigars for review from steelhead1834. They've been resting in my humi for a couple of weeks and I decided it was time to honor my commitment to write a review. I picked out the Double Corona.

First impressions were very good. The cigar is a nice size, much bigger than what I usually smoke. The wrapper was flawless and well applied. The cigar lit easily and burned well, although it required a couple of touch ups with the torch.

The flavor was mild to medium and rather sweet, no doubt due to the Cameroon wrapper. Personally, I think I would probably have preferred a maduro wrapper and a bit more Nicaraguan kick in the blend. Still, this was a pleasant smoking experience and IMHO a great value for $3 a pop. Well worth a try if you're in the market for a hand-rolled, medium strength, medium priced cigar.

Nice review - you hit it right on. I had one that had been "aged" for close to a year...
