cedar on anejo on or off?

Am I suppose to take the cedar wrapping off the anejo when storing? Read a few threads where mold became an issue with the cedar wrapper. My tiny little humidor is at 64-67ish according to my radio shack hygometer so shouldn't have mold problems right? The sticks are from 2007 nov or dec forgot exactly when.

I'd say take it off... there have been reports of mouldy Anejos and some say the cedar sleeve / plastic wrapper may have contributed to this.

I take the cedar off of all of my A. Fuente cigars. I've seen mold on Anejos and 858 SGs. It's not worth the risk to me. I do place them back in the cello after removing the cedar though.

Cedar off for the Anejo, but left on for Opus, Sun Grown and Casa Fuente... No reason other than I hear Anejo mold stories, but not so much on the other vitola...

That's what I did, cello off and cedar sleeve on. Just because it looks cool but seems the majority thinks the cedar sleeves contribute to the mold risk so I guess if it's a matter of risking mold or having naked sticks I'll go with naked. Naked is always good but doesn't leave much for the imagination....

Does anyone just taken the cello off and left the cedar on?

I unsleeve mine.

I've never had a Anejo, or other cigar for that matter, that was cedar wrapped that I didn't smoke sooner than it would matter. But that's me. But now, having read this thread, I'll stip 'em down to store 'em if I get 'em.

OFF. Also I don't leave cigars in tubes for too long. Seen lots of issues on Tubos.

Ditto this. I am a collector of Opusx and the Anejo.... I can personally attest to the mold issue tfor the Anejo's 50's and 49's I have several that have mold the day they were bought. I thought it was just one B &M that I frequent but now I hear is is across the board. Never ever had a problem with opus.

Off. There is a widespread thought that the wrappers on the sweet lil beauties may contain more natural sugars due to the fermentation process. That is the suspected reason for the increased amounts of mold associated with them.:2

Should I take the cedar sleeves off all the cigars that have them?

In my case, along with Anejos, I have some sungrown and maduro Chateau Fuente cigars still wrapped in cedar sleeves.
