Cheapest Pepin

Are there any reasonably priced cigars blended by The Great Don Pepin Garcia? I've had two and both were simply scrumptious - the CI Legends Yellow band and a black label robusto.
I prefer a large ring gauge. I suppose the CI Legends Yellow will be my cheapest option, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there.

He doesn't make too many jawbreakers. He makes several value smokes for Holts. Check out the "Pepin Whores Unite" thread.

Here is my take on DPG cheapos. These are in my preference order.

1) CI Legends Yellow Label - $70/20 Toros
(http://www.cigarsinternational.com/prodDisp.asp?item=CS-XGA&cat=3)

Note: should be able to get for $55 or less at CBID

2) Holts Fumadors - $38/20
(http://www.holts.com/category.html?id=201378&trail=86665)

3) Corojo label - $46/20 (plus freebies)

4) Tatuaje P series - $104/31 robustos

Note: Currently OOS, but can be found at many other retailers and often on sale for much less.

Holts was running a sale on Old Henrys, which is my favorite value Pepin smoke. Damn it, I realized it just ended.

IMHO, it's miles past the CI Yellow in terms of complexity.

Excellent feedback guys, thanks!
Another question: I'm beginning the journey of filling up my new Vinotemp. Do all of Pepin's blends come in a real box? That might be a stupid question, but I want some nice looking boxes in there...just don't wanna break the bank and have to sleep on the couch

As far as I know. Pepin doesn't cheat when it comes to quality in ANYTHING, if you ask me.

Boxes as opposed to bundles?

Are you looking for SLBs or dress boxes?

BTW, this is my vinotemp about six months ago....

Curly head boxes did it for me, and I'm sure you'll find something that works well for you, too...

OOooohhhh, almost forgot...

5 Vegas Miami are great for the price, especially on sale at cbid/CI

Not gonna be a jawbreaker ring gauge, but again I think they're nicer than the CI yellows.

i vote for the black labels & the holts connesiour-most of pepin's stuff is $100+/box, these 2 are under-i avoid the mixed fill stuff on principle, be damned if i pay those $'s for something that scraps, JMHO

I've been tempted to try the Legend but the description is that its peppery and that all it says. How would you describe it? I've only smoked the Blues and the local B&M's custom roll both I liked. I scored a box of RP Legends last week for $40 so I know they can be gotten at a good price.

Just my :2, but I'd pass on the CI Yellow, they were a big let down. I'd rather shell out a little more, get blacks, smoke less and smoke better. Same thing for the Cigar.com Pepin house blend. There is a review on CS about them, and it wasn't good. Pepins cost, that just the way it is.

If you are going to try these house blends, get some 5ers first. I'm glad I didn't get stuck with a whole box of Yellow Labels.

It's funny how people can have completely different takes on cigars. I think the CI Yellows are the best bang for the buck pepin out there. If you get them at a good price, I think they might be the best, period.

On the other hand, I've had the CI Legends Cusano, and I think they're terrible.
