Cigar bands

I have been collecting the bands from every new cigar I smoked, without duplication, for a while now. I have some ideas for what to do with my collection, but find myself curious if anyone else does the same thing. What do you do with your bands? It'd be cool to see pics of the collections too!

I attached a bunch to the top of my Cigar Solutions Travel Humidor.

I've made several glass ashtrays for buddies using leftover bands as well as a lampshade and now I'm doing a stand for my Stinky ashtray.

Here's a couple things...

I had a bazillion bands that I gathered up from guys here at CS, I sent them off to Hal (hk3) to do a project he wanted to do.
I think the coolest cigar band project I've ever seen is the poker table.

I'm just collecting all of mine right now in a bigass jar; will probably do a contest when it gets filled (but don't expect to see that anytime soon). When I started off, I used a notebook to write my notes in and would glue them to the page, but quickly ran out of room....

I'm planning to use all the bands I've saved over the last few years as a decoration on a cabinet humidor I plan to build some time in the future.

Wow...Just got done looking through all the previous threads. There are some amazingly talented people here at CS. I feel that my project will end up being much more simple than those, but there were some great ideas. I wish I had a talent to trade some work with those guys!! Unfortunately chasing bad guys isn't a tradeable commodity! LOL..... Thanks for the replys guys...

I used to save my bands, I had a whole cigar box full of them. Then i lost them in my college move. I wish I had put them into a tasting notebook.

I was at a local B&M today, when I saw a very nice collection of bands, put together in a frame. It was a very nice frame, made out of cherry wood maybe, probably about 11x19 or so, not too big. It had a couple hundred cigar bands arranged in no specific pattern. I looked at the price tag and saw $225.00!!!!! (Wigg is my witness) Holy crap, I though to myself. There are probably a couple dozen people here at CS that could do the same thing, for a whole hell of alot less.... I guess it could have been the fact that the B&M is kinda pricey that way, art and sticks!

My Uses:

#1 Credentials and Memories
I always keep the band of the best cigar I have smoked at the time (Currently an Opus X I smoked in Vegas at Casa Fuente) in my wallet in front of my Drivers Liscense, It not only reminds me of fond memories, but may also strike up conversation if someone with a cigar interest sees it in the checkout line.

#2 Bookmarks
I like to read on the porch and smoke. Why not mark my books with style.
