Cigar Disasters......

Was getting the pool winterized and almost had an ugly end to a Famous Nic 3000. I think I would have recovered if it would have went...splash, but it got me to thinking.

Anyone had a cigar that met an untimely demise? There has got to be a funny story or two here and I love comedy.
 
not funny, Gone shopping with the wife so I stopped into a B&M and picked up an Oliva G to enjoy while waiting for her. Dropped the cigar when getting in the truck. Stick landed on the head and busted all to pieces.
 
3-4 weeks ago I had a Pepin BLue label disaster. I had been wanting to try them really bad, went to local spot and picked one up. Well I couldnt wait to get home so I sparked it in the car. Well bright me, I went to ash the cigar at about the 1 inch mark, and the pepin ended up on the side of the road. I cried.
 
I was tailgating at LSU for the LSU vs Florida game In my hand was a RYJ 130th Anniversary 007. I cut it a began to start the lighting process when a buddy of mine bumped my elbow with a table they were packing up and plummets to the sidewalk where it is then walked over by a group of fans with a rolling cooler and well needless to say it had been destroyed....

About a year ago I was working in the backyard with 2 of my friends and having beers and cigars. We didn't have an ashtray out so while I was doing stuff I would wedge the cigar slightly in the top of the beer bottle lit end up. Well I picked up the bottle and got into a conversation then without thinking I tried to take a drink and jammed the lit cigar into my nose and burnt the s*!# out of my nose. Cigar was ok though. My friends laughed for about 2 days and would not stop commenting on how priceless my face was when my beer burnt me.:al
 
Buddy of mine was away on vacation and had just bought a Diamond Crown at a local B&M. He just lit the cigar and decided to grab a cup of coffee, he put the cigar on the corner of a bench and got his coffee. He was gone five minutes came back and the cigar was gone, someone had walked off with it.

Had 3 Monte No 2s in a stainless steel travel tube... I guess the temperature and humidity change shocked them and the inside of the tube became damp with condensation... all three sticks were unsmokable and are in quarantine now. I look at them every now and then and wonder if today is the day I'll smoke one but they look so ugly!
I'm sure the humidity on them is fine now (this happened in May) but I find that when I want a smoke, I want the whole experience to be good and for me this includes the appearance of the cigar.

Had that happen to me with a Tatuaje red label back in the spring. I was driving along a local road for some reason (probably trying to chase a train) and tried ashing it out the window, only to "lose" it.

Three months later I'm searching for something beneath my driver's seat, and what did I find...I guess it bounced down there somehow. (No, I didn't bother trying to restart it! :D)

Now that is what I was looking for! Very funny. Well, not too funny, but still a little chuckle!

Should have relit it, I'm sure it would have still been good. :ss

Same day. I dropped a Pepin Blue. Droped straight on the head. Busted it up and split the wrapper 1/2 way down. So I was then smoking a 898 Collection a little later 1/2 through, I spilled my water and put it out. :hn

Called it day. Man I was pissed. It's funny now though. I kept getting razzed in the chat for it. =)
 
I was driving up to the casino one day with the wife and lit up an Upman ISOM and was starting to enjoy it. I went to ash it out the window and apparently didn't have a good enough grip on it and Whoooooooooosh, out of my hands it went on the very first ash.:mad:
 
I was recently enjoying a Miami 8&11 chatting it up with my wife. The cigar was doing great, the conversation was good then, Snap Pop.....

My wife said, "what's that?" I said, "I think I just burned a family of beetles." Then not 2 seconds later, the thing goes on a tear. Snapping and popping. I have no idea what's going on. The ash is falling off, tabacco is flying.....

The damn thing split open like a burnt hot dog and the results were saddening. I've never had that happen before and I've actually never heard of it happening to anyone else.

That is one of the funniest things I've ever read! :r

My one and only cigar disaster was riding shotgun with my girlfriend, smoking a nice CC Monte #4. Of course, I wasn't paying too much attention and managed to drop the lit stick between my legs and damn near charred my nuts off. Luckily, with a bit of acrobatics and yelling, I rescued it without it going out or damaging my g/f's seat! :ss
 
I was going to smoke a Perdomo lot 23 maduro one day, went to take a leak, it fell out of my mouth right into the toilet...it was very sad, it never even felt the sweet sweet flame of my lighter:ss
 
I had 3 neighbors over a couple weeks ago and we were on the deck breaking in the Stinky. I had the grill going and we were drinking a fair amount of fine beer. The Stinky was taking a pounding and doing a great job, until my dumb ass black lab bumped the table and a beer spilled into the Stinky, which knocked 3 cigars into the bowl. Immediately had 3 Belgian White stogies and a very freaked out black lab.
 
When I was in Florida at my parents house, I wanted to help out mom and popps. So I started to clean the pool, well my dog athena loves the water and stupid me didnt close the sliding glass door. Well it took about a half a sec for her to relize this and she made a b-line for the pool. And as I was roasting the foot she hits the water full speed and got me wet from head to toe the cigar was so wet it fell apart. :( poor siglo IV
 
I drive a flatbed truck for work and I had the window open what I thought was half way, it was getting cold out so I guess I had closed it more without realizing..

I'm smoking an AVO and the ash had built up pretty nice, traffic is starting to slow so I figure now is a good moment..

Reach up and go to tap the ash out of the window, somehow I miss and actually hit dead center in the glass my hand gets burned from the spray of ash and I drop the lit cigar in my lap, trying to down shift and fight the wheel I manage to flip the cigar up one handed....and right out the freakin window
