Cigar history.....

Does anyone have any really old cigar history stories? I watch a lot of old cowboy movies, and civil war movies and everybody seems to be smoking cigars. Anyone know of any old brands, or pictures of old boxes etc.

Who rolled them? Where did they get them etc.? Thanks. :cb

I know that, part of it at least, was giving the stick a nice tongue bath before smoking. :tg
