Cigar Oasis II XL question

Matthew

Young Chimp
I have a new locker style cabinet and need an active humidification unit. The new Hydras won't cut it (cabinet is too big). I have an Avallo cabinet and an Aristocrat cabinet too, so I know the advantages and disadvantages of their systems. The new Cigar Oasis II XL seems like a more cost effective solution to calling Bob or Matt and buying their humidification systems.

Questions for CO II XL owners:
Would you recommend it?
How often does it run?
How noisy is it?

Thanks guys!

Yes - Have 4
Always typically - (The fans)
Very quiet

I don't know about the new ones, but I've had two original CO XLs die on me for no apparent reason.

I highly recomend it, I love it. Durring the summer it kicks on and off. Durring the winter it runs a little longer. It's very quiet, my TV is louder the it.

I've been running the same one for 2+ years, I would recommend it. I'm also thinking of another maybe a Hydra this time as I like the ability to add fans.

I have one for my Cabinet Humi. Bought it over a year ago and I could hear the fan pretty well, which drove me crazy. I'm a bit sensitive though to annoying mechanical noises. So I tore the C.O. apart and replaced the one top noisy small fans with two larger ultra quiet PC fans. Works great, super air flow, and most importantly to me ... practically silent.

I think a 2 foot square is 8 cubic feet. Didn't realize how small 8 cubic feet was.

Wow.. I didn't realilze it was that small either... I guess 2' wide x 2' high x 2' deep is 8 cubic feet......

I shoulda been able to figure that one out.

Thanks for the feedback, gentlemen.

The locker style units are around 25 cubic feet of interior space.

Thanks. You may be getting PMs on how to do that to mine, if the noise ends up bothering me...

I don't know anything about his job or his income but his sickness is quite apparent :tu

Hi Guys,
Although the HYDRA-SM works with humidors up to 8 cubic feet and can be daisy chaned together, we are already in production of a HYDRA-LG model that will work for most all the cabinet humidors out there up to 6'H x 4'W. We expect it to be ready to ship in the next 60 days. The -LG model will have 2 larger internal fans, a bigger reservoir (of course) a higher rated power supply for more horsepower, and all the same features as the smaller HYDRA-SM And I know there were some requirements to have longer ribbon cables for the external fans. We'll have that available too.

And thanks for all the comments on the Hydra's thus far. It's always great to see everyones excitement when a new product comes together.

Enjoy!

I think that the longer ribbon cables is a GREAT idea!!! I have a footlocker humidor and I have to put cigar boxes in the bottom and sit my oasis on top. the daisy-chain sounds good too. I may have to check into the new one.

Just wanted to post my follow up. I've had the CO II XL set up and running for 2 weeks. Works great. The recirculation fan really keeps the air moving and keeps the humidity preety uniform in an environment where I expected to need multiple circulation fans. The sound is reasonable, much quieter than the Avallo, but still noticible.

Overall, this was an excellent choice.

Thanks to Dave for the good advice.
