Cigar odor eliminating candles

The Arango Sportsman version ("the one with the green dot") really works, expensive though at 6 bucks a pop though they do last long. I even put it by the cats' litter box and it pretty much powered through that odor as well.

Buy an ozone machine...you won't regret it if you want to get rid of that stale smoke smell.

I agree !

Exhaust is the #1 way to deal with indoor smoke.
After exhaust, I use an ozone generator (cheap WalMart air purifier) to clean the rest of the air. I am not a fan of odor candles.

i use the ones from cigars international. they work really really well. of course, the more smoke you exhaust out the window, the easier it is for the candle to do it's job... i would recommend those though, they're pretty inexpensive. i always buy 2 with everything i order from CI.

Hi All-

I'm such a newb.:D

I think this belongs in the accessories forum?:)
While searching the the different forums for "cigar candles work", I found this thread...I realize it's old..lol.:hn

Do "cigar" candles work...or could one just use "everyday" scented candles?

Do cigar candles have some special "anti-smoke-smell-dissapater" ingredient? :ss

I'm pretty sure...ventilation helps.:D

T kindly IA!

Michael

Ozone oxidizes (chemically burns, sort of) the smoke particles. Similar to bleach. It does the same thing to everything else it comes into contact with. Thats how it degrades plastic. It works but at a price.

Thanks Darrell-

They're not for me...but for my "better-half".:D

I'm trying everything in my "power" to convince her that cigar smoke is a "good" thing...lol.

I enjoy the smell.:)

I tried the CI candles, they didnt quite get the job done. I have decided outside is the best solution, as much as I didn't want to go that way.

Mike :)

Forget candles. Exhaust is obviously the best. An ozone air purifier is great, too. Follow both of those up with a good commercial grade smoke odor remover. I bought a one gallon jug of concentrated Genuine Unsmoke 9-D-9 for about 30 bucks on ebay and its amazing stuff... takes all the odors out super fast... After all, it IS made for use by professional smoke damage cleaners!

Inspired by your posts I did my own little search. Check this stuff out!

Here is a gel that sounds like what was described above
http://www.jondon.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=15087

These are small scented blocks that supposedly wick odor out of the air, hmmm?
http://www.jondon.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=4060

It says here that the Unsmoke 9D9 is for surface application, not for wet fogging.
http://www.jondon.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=4045

This however seems to be just the ticket, you can spray it but also wipe surfaces (your table, chairs etc) with it
http://www.jondon.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=998

In case you have suffocated your wife or friends with your stench, this is the last resort to get rid of their stench
http://www.jondon.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=4092

And finally, what everyone who builds a dedicated smoking room should have or perhaps especially those without a dedicated room
http://www.jondon.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=82_2463

Or you just smoke outside :tu!

Stop smoking in the house, if you don't like the smell. That's my :2.

That advice is kind of like going to the doctor and saying: "Doc it hurts when I do this".
And the Doctor replies: "Well don't do that":r

Maybe Michael (My371), like some others here have no garage to smoke in, or the weather is too cold to smoke outside. Or they don't have the time for a trip the the B&M. That's my :2

Michael, ventilation is what works, try to get the smoke out ASAP. I use our spare bedroom, door closed, with a small fan in the window to exhaust the smoke. And then when I'm done I use a Febreze candle. They work pretty good and are available in most stores.

I don't like to use a candle while smoking. To me the scent of the candle "infuses" into the cigars flavor and the smoking experience.

followed one of tfars links, thanks.... and found this, that 9-D-9 must be some good stuff,

"copied from web site"
"Mixing:

For heavy smoke odors, add 3-6 ounces of 9-D-9®, and 1-2 ounces of Last Resort to one gallon of lukewarm tap water.

For dead body or skunk odors on colorfast structural surfaces, use 8 ounces of Liqui-Zone™ and 2 ounces of Last Resort® per gallon of water.

Application: Contact spray onto odor sources. See label for additional instructions.
==============================================

If you've got any old dead bodies laying around stinking up the place just spray a little of this stuff directly on it and badda bing your rooms as fresh as a daisy. :D

cigars should be no problem for this stuff :r
