Cigars and soda

I do not drink alcohol either, out of curiosity, where did you hear soda was a no,no?

I prefer diet Dr Pepper, but I seem to enjoy natural wrappers more with coffee, the sharp bitterness seems to help me sort the mellow flavors of a natural wrapper. Maduros, both coffee and diet soda works for me. Finding something to drink that is non-alcoholic and paring with your cigar should be just as much fun for you as those who enjoy finding alcohol to pair with their cigars.
 
Listed in order which each is used, the best bets would probably be reverse order. :2
Water, Mt. Dew, Sports Drinks, Dr. Pepper, Rootbeer and I am sure I have drank a lot of other stuff with my stogies too.

Can't do coffee, stunts your growth and I can't afford that. :cf :r
 
I prefer a nice cold coke. But occasionally I will have something different like a nice rich porter/stout beer to pair with it. :tu

Basically if it works for you who cares if its a no/no or not... like they say:
"I do what I want" :D
 
Drink whatever you want if you are enjoying it. :)
I have had a cigar with Pepsi, Scotch, Tequila, water, beer, etc. If it tastes good to you then go with it.:ss
 
I like a Dr.Pepper or a Coke with my cigars, if I am not drinking alcohol. I say drink what you like.
 
Anything diet usually works for me. If I drink something full of sugar the taste seems to stay in my mouth much longer.

Any of the iced tea variety by Crystal Light seem to pair pretty well with a stogie as well.
 
Usually I drink water with my smokes. But I also like Root beer(IBC) I didnt like the pairing of Diet Pepsi with a cigar. I found Coke Zero to go better. My:2
 
Diet Pepsi has been my soda of choice, however I will try some Coke Zero based on your recommendation. Thanks bob :tu

What, nobody else drinks Vanilla Coke with their sticks? I rarely smoke a cigar without Vanilla Coke, or some sort of iced tea. Snapple has some out that isn't nearly as sweet as most sweetened teas, so it's perfect. They have Earl Grey, Morning Blend, And Orange Pekoe. Liptons's Pureleaf is also quite good.
 
If I'm having a soda, I drink Diet Coke with cigars. If it works for you, then there's really no question to it IMO.

Wow, thanks for all of the replies, I never expected so much interest in this thread.

I guess I will continue my practice of enjoying a soda with my cigar.

For a while I paired my smokes with a coke blak. Then I switched to Dr. Pepper when I could no longer find a coke blak on the store shelf. Now I've discovered just how good life can be with a nice smoke and a Dublin Dr. Pepper.
