Last week I mentioned in footbag's thread here that I was also heading out camping and that while I was packing up my goodies for the trip my wife walked by and said that she wanted me to bring her some cigars to try as well.
She said she wanted something mild but I knew she would prefer the taste of a good maduro so I decided to pull a fast one on her. The first night I lit up my Sancho Panza Double Maduro and handed her a Macanudo Hampton Court that had been haunting my humidor for years. She liked the look of it and got down to puffing.
Within minutes she looked at me like I had handed her a skunk to smoke. I told her that she would surely prefer the richer maduro and not to let the dark wrapper disuade her. So the Mac went into the fire and another Sancho Panza was lit. Needless to say she enjoyed that tasty, smoky little bugger (makes a great skeeter repellent) and the next night we both enjoyed Padron 2000 maduros.
All in all it was a great weekend. Now I have to decide which cigars to bring we we head out camping again in two weeks.
