Cigars in the Keys

BayouDawg

Mrs. Bayou and myself are going to take a quick week of RnR down in the Keys after Thanksgiving (well, really after the annual drubbing of Georgia Tech).

With the Keys' rich cigar history, does anybody have any recommendations for must-do smoke shops, c-bars, or other cool cigar related attractions. Any advice appreciated.

One of my bros on another board just got back from a week in Key West. If you want, I can have him e-mail ya.

Kicked Au-Barn's ass didn't we? :D

Sorry I couldn't make it over to your tailgate.

Ahhhhhhhh...........everywhere you go there are kindred spirits! THere's nothing quite like watching the Dawgs on tv with the sound turned down and Munson on the radio. And through all the injuries you gotta admit - those Dawgs are a helluva tough team. It's been a while since they had this much fight in them. I just hope VanGorder sticks around for a few more years. Nothing like seeing a defense that knocks snot bubbles out of the other teams noses on every play. I can't wait to see what they do to that big sucker from Kentucky. Maybe someday someone will come out with a UGA Cigar of some sort. Hunker down you hairy Dawgs!

Key West is a great place for a cigar adventure. I gotta tell you that the quality is all over the place. The real treat is going from shop to shop and meeting the rollers and puffin' as you go.
Go to cigargroup.com and look in the regional listings for Florida.
Hopefully there is still a listing of all the cigar places in the Key West. If not, stop at a tourist info place or the Chamber of Commerce and they will turn you on.

I think the last time the Mrs. and I where there we went to six different shops and loved every minute of it.

If you like cold beer and atmosphere, do not miss Captain Tony's
Bar. You can go to all the tourist places like Sloppy Joe's and the Hog's Breath, but you will find no finer bar in the USA than Captain Tony's.

Don't miss the Conch Train tour if you've never been there before.
Sure it's touristy, but you get the whole feel of the island pretty quick. It's a good way to get your bearings. Smoke a fatty down at Malory Dock at sunset and witness the spectacle of the sunset.
It's people watching at its best.

Oh, and don't miss Louie's Backyard for dinner or just drinks.

Enjoy, I'm so friggin' jealous!!

Thanks Phil, do that. Sorry we missed each other, luckily it happens several times a year. Always good to see the dawgs dominate at home. Another friend stopped by with an ISOM Partegas, so I wasn't sufferin' too bad!

I was on Sapelo over the long weekend so I missed the UK game, so I got it rolling on tape in the back ground right now!

Man, I just love having y'all cigar smokin dawgs on here.

Defense win championships, future is very, very bright. My schedule for the next week...T'giving > UGA v. Yech > Keys> SEC Championship. THAT, my friend, is good week.:p
