Cuesta-Rey? Any Lovers?

I haven't heard much around these boards about Cuesta-Rey...But there is somewhat of a cult following near me. I've got two local B&M's that are totally in love with them. I've got a "Centro Fino Sungrown" and an "8-9-8" in the humi, and I'm very ready to try them. They smell great, look awesome, and seem like all around good sticks.

Thoughts?

I'd like to know too. Both of my favorite B&Ms have a healthy selection (and I mean healthy) of Cuesta Rey cigars, but I've yet to try one at all. I hear almost literally nothing about them here.

I am not a huge fan. They advertise a cammie wrapper which I love but did nothing for me. That being said, if you like em, thats all that matters.

The Centro Fino Cortez got 5 stars in the Summer 2008 issue of ECCJ. I bought one based on that rave review, but I haven't got around to smoking it yet.

A mild NC but, IMO, quite flavorful and pleasant. A good choice for early in the day.

One of my co-workers gave me a box of the Centro Fino Sungrown for my wedding. I have only had a few of them, but I have really enjoyed them. The burn and construction had been top notch. I don't know what they cost, but there are a quality smoke IMO.

I enjoy 'em.

Just a note - there is a HUGE difference between the Centenario and the Sungrown - personally, I like the Sungrown line.

Centenario
(I changed Tobii's quote slightly :)) line.

Usually grab the tubo, don't know why. One of the few NC's that doesn't make me spit constantly.

A buddy of mine gave me a 3 year old Centennario Tubo (I believe it was the Aristocrat) about a month ago... I thought it was fantastic.

I enjoy the Centro Fino Sungrown #4 on occasion. Don't think it is the best smoke I've ever had but it certainly isn't the worst and it is a stick that I will buy. They are much better than some of the lower end A. Fuentes for sure.

It's a good mild smoke...
I do enjoy one every now and then...

If your ever in the Tampa/St. Pete area during baseball season. Go to a Devil Rays game and check out the Cuesta Rey Cigar Bar in the stadium... :)

For the few I've had, they are a good Fuente based brand. The only reason I don't buy them more often is that the flavor (which I find to be on par with Fuente's regular line) does not justify the price markup. Although, I might have to go try another and see. It's been awhile :ss

They are very good smokes, made in the Fuente Factory. They are extremely well made and they burn like a champ. The Centennario Line is very good, especially the tubo, and the Centro Fino Sun grown Line are excellent, especially the Tubo (Cortez). BTW, the Cortez is almost impossible to find lately! Best of all, they are reasonably priced!!!
