I was considering a Palio....But I recieved an email for the cuban cutter for 7 bucks plus shipping. The cutter comes with a lifetime guarantee. I know that Palio is the premier cutter.

It may come with a lifetime guarantee; but a lifetime guarantee on crap doesn't stop it from being crap. :2

There's a reason almost everyone who's been doing this for a while says to get a Palio: they're the best. But if you want to throw your $7 away, go ahead....
 
I was going to buy a Xikar, but based on everything I've read on these forums, I'm going with a Palio. My local B&M carries them. Can't wait to try it out.....I'm sick of shredding the caps of my stogies with my cheap cutter. :D
 
Save yourself the trouble. The Palio will pay for itself over its life with a razor sharp blade and quality cuts on stogies. A bad cut from a dull blade on a stogie, especially one of your good ones, is a sad sad thing to witness. Go to the below thread and get in on this ASAP!

All I have to say about warranties has already been said:

Tommy: The point is, how do you know the fairy isn't a crazy glue sniffer? "Building model airplanes" says the little fairy; well, we're not buying it. He sneaks into your house once, that's all it takes. The next thing you know, there's money missing off the dresser, and your daughter's knocked up. I seen it a hundred times.
Ted Nelson, Customer: But why do they put a guarantee on the box?
Tommy: Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of shit. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me.

I have a Palio and love it. As for anything else I think it's hit and miss. I have this cheap ass B&M cutter that they threw in one day and it will still shave the caps off almost as good as the Palio. Before I bought the Palio I bought a 15 dollar cutter out of the case at the B&M and after maybe 6 or 7 cigars all it does is smash them. From my expirience buying anything but Palio is a gamble so you have to ask your self, Do you feel Lucky.

I would say if you only smoke every now & then, go for the cheaper cutter. If you plan on smoking better cigars and see no end in sight, I say go for the Palio & save yourself the trouble.

I was always taught and live by "buy the best you can afford". I have one of the original Palios when they were released and it still performs flawlessly to this day.
 
I have a lot of cheap cutters, some with lifetime warranties. I stopped using them after just a few times of getting bad cuts. If you get that cutter, it'll always make a great gift to somebody just starting out with cigars.
 
It seems as though many folks that have posted haven't tried this cutter. I work at a B&M so I get these REALLY cheap. It is one of the better cutters I've had. I haven't used it a ton, but its done the job well when I have used it. It has a closed back on it so it MAKES you only cut the cap off. Has a hole for torpedos. Kind of neat. I recommend them and yes, I have a Palio too. :tu
 
I am sure out of the box this is a fine cutter. The real question is where will it be in a year? Answer: At the bottom of your drawer, with the Palio in hand. One ruined Padron Anni and you will be very sad. :2
 
I had one of those when I first started smoking cigars and it worked good for a few months then it seemed to loose it's edge. I polished the blades with my Dremel, and it worked great. After it went dull again I got a Xikar, and eventually graduated to a Palio. I would recoment just going strait to the Palio, it will save you money inthe long run.
 
Man, I gotta gets me a Palio. Where's the cheapest place? And, is there any particular style I should get? Thanks ( Friggin Slope)
