Dependable Smoke?

I've smoked almost every cigar out there and I'm still looking for a good, dependable consistent smoke. I don't know how many times I've tried different Marcas and decided, "This smoke is perfect', I'm buying 2-3 boxes!", only to be disappointed in the inconsistency of the smokes when I get them. I store all my smokes at 65RH and wait at least 3 weeks before smoking a new box. The only real consistency I've found is in the DPG line. Any other gorillas have this problem in searching for "The One"? Thanks for your input!:tu

I have noticed that the Padron X000 series does not seem to vary too much from box to box. Also all of the Gran Habanos I have tried have been consistent. :2

:tpd: When I need a smoke that I know will taste the way I expect, I will grab a GH #5 or a Padron Londres Maduro. Another safe smoke for me is a Joya de Nicaragua Antaño.

SANCHO PANZA EXTRA FUERTE (CORDOBA 5.25 x 44) Consistent, cheap and always satisfying! :2

Just picked up another box from JR's @ $33.95 :tu...this time they came with a free 5pk of Sancho Panza Caballero's. Haven't tried the brown label yet... looking forward to it.

Every AVO I have had has been consitent as can be, for about $5 each from the devil for most of them they are uber consistent for my tastes :tu

presuming you're referring to NC only - the LFD chisels have never let me down, box after box. also, JDN celebracion churchills are consistent as hell...

Depending on which flavor profile you prefer, I've found all of the following to be very well made, consistent, and fairly priced:

any Padron x000
any 601
Arturo Fuente 8-5-8

What are you smoking that isn't consistent?

Cigars will vary some due to the fact that they are an organic product. It's just part of the game.

Any padron. I have never had a single padron below great quality. You always get something much more than you pay for with them.

I agree, but I still get frustrated spending tons of money on smokes that vary so much in taste and "smoothness" from one box to the other! Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! Maybe I need to stay with Padron, AF, & DPG!:tu

During the first few months, after being boxed, the flavor profiles of most NC Cigars will change a lot. For me, when I purchase a box, after opening for inspection, I usually let the box sit for two months or so, before I start to smoke from it. For me the most consistent brands of cigars, with respect to flavor and strength, after a few months of aging, are Arturo Fuente, Padron, Oliva & Punch!

In my experience so far, I would have to agree on Padron for the most consistency. Rocky Vintage '92 and Edge Maduros have never let me down either.

For the price, nothing beats the Padron Delicias.
A small 25-25 minute smoke, perfect draw, rich flavor, consistently awesome and at $3 a pop... It's my choice for dependability.

I think that you will have a problem finding 100% consistency in a hand made agricultural product. Each bale of tobacco comes from different plants which may have slightly different flavor characteristics. The blenders attempt to homogenize their product as much as possible to maintain consistency and Q/C. But from year to year or even early to late harvest there are variables.
Another factor is aging. You may buy 2-3 boxes at the same time, but you cant smoke them all at once. Some may be 6 months to a year older and will have flavor variances.
Lastly, your palate or smoking circumstances will vary also affecting taste.

Want something that always will taste the same? Try cigarettes or a highly homogenized machine made blend like a White Owl.:2
