Devil site!

Young Ape
Despite the collective warnings of the Club Stogie Community, I ventured onto the dreaded cbid. Here's a rundown of what I picked up, being delivered later today:

Rocky Patel Vintage Seconds 1990 Torpedoes (5)
Box of Rocky Patel Signature Lanceros (10)
Box of 5 Vegas Classic Coronas (25)
Warminster Humidor (20 ct.)

All for just over $100! Nevertheless, it's stuff I don't need. I'm chalking this one up to boredom. My leg is broken, and I can't do anything but lay around all day, which has led to surfing cigar websites looking for deals. Oh well, at least I can smoke...

Pics to come when UPS arrives!

Only a 20ct humi? What were you thinking? Where is the Tower of Power? You'll need one soon.

Gratz and welcome to the dark side.

Those twenty count humidors are stackable. The stack will collapse if you have more than eight of them. (Don't ask how I know this.)

My cbid delivery @ 7:15 last night, all 5-paks:

Vega Talanga Rojo Robusto Extra
Dos Capas Churchill by Felipe Gregorio
La Vieja Habana Connecticut Chateau Corona
Vieja Hacienda Toro
H. Upmann Demi Tasse
Occidental Reserve Torpedo
Pirate's Gold by Rolando Reyes Rothschild
Pirate's Gold by Rolando Reyes Sr. No. 4 Maduro

Yeah, I know there's some dog rockets in there, but at $3-$5 per fiver, if they gag me I'll use them for chiminea fodder and improve the ambiance of my neighborhood.

I guess that's why it's called the devil site.

I do like the Vega Talanga brand so far. What I thought would be DRs turned out to be well made and very enjoyable.

I know the Upmanns are almost-gars, but I need to start stocking up on smalls for the nightly winter hot tub excursions, so I make no apologies.

I kow what you mean. If I win the 3 bids I have right now I have 48 on the way and they just posted a special for Perdomo Golf editions that I like alot too. Thank goodness I have a 500 count at the house is pretty much empty since I havent bought much since I got back from Kuwait.

48?! And I thought I was bad :gn

Great job! I'm glad your cbid experience was a good one for you and all worked out. I'd like to say I had similar experiences but I can't. I posted a while back that I had won a bid on a bundle that was not in stock. Well, would you believe that it happened again to me, even though I wrote to them and asked them if they had it in stock and was assured that it was in stock and would be delivered at the end of the week. It wasn't. I got notified at the beginning of THIS week that it was on it's way and would be here Friday, just about a week/week and a half after when they said it would be here. Oh, well. Sorry about hijacking your tread. Again, congratulations on your score, they look great!

You know...I've thought a lot about it and I feel that THIS site is the actual devil. I mean before I came here I was happy with buying a cigar here and there the day I was going to smoke it. That has obviously all changed since joining here and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that!

...now, off to cbid...

PS Nice haul :tu

Not the DB, they're connies though. I wanted a good Saturday-morning-on-the-deck-with-coffee smoke. I plan on trying one this Saturday. That's almost OTT. :cb

Just tried one of the 5 Vegas's tonight. Do these typically need some time to calm down? It was a bit harsher and spicier than I expected.

these kind of post make me feel good. i only won 2. still sweating it becuase im not suposed to be using the old credit card. have to hide it from the wife... i should just cancel the card after this round on cbid

I know exactly what you mean brother!

When I first started smoking cigars I would buy 2 or 3 to enjoy over the weekend.

Now over the course of the last 2 months I've been purusing this and other cigar web sites and discovered CBid I have a collection of 3 humidors, assorted lighters, beads, hygros, cutters, etc. and about 100 various cigars. I have another 42 on the way this Fri.!

Today I added up my CBid invoices since 7/1/08 and the grand total was $443.00!!

Think I ready for a time-out.

I figured before my first kid arrives I should pick up some smokes so I don't have to worry about it for a while......154 sticks showing up sometime next week should do me just fine.....good thing the wife does not see the CC statement :cb
