So fess up guys. :tu Did anyone go to the Vegas Cigar Show this past weekend? Unfortunately I couldn't make it.

Any big news or unveilings? I heard something about a new Excalibur being introduced but havn't heard the details.

Pictures are always a plus!

Beuler.... Beuler.... Anyone....? :D

Um, it's still going on. http://www.rtda.org/tradeshow.html

I would have loved to have gone, but I'm heading out to Vegas later this year -there's some interesting news trickling in around the blogosphere from the show, I'm sure that some more personal accounts will be posted here soon.

And it's not open to the general public.

Good news tho................................won't be but a few days and the cigar world will be buzzing with what was at the show! :tu

I know Reyes Family Cigars (formerly Indios Puros) is introducing a new line at the show!

I was planning on tagging along with a local B&M owner here in town but couldn't make it. Another friend of mine went though and got home last night. he isn't a big cigar guy and just wanted to hit Vegas so I didn't really get the real inside scoop.

I figured since a lot of guys take their laptops everywhere these days that some gorillas may give us a super secret inside look at the new stuff coming out.

Just wishful thinking I guess, but I'm always excited to try some new smokes.

:ss

I did go...give me a day to get everything gathered together and photographed...although I did smoke a couple of the new sticks...I will fill you in on those as well...

I stoped by Fumare and Dion was getting a bunch of stuff together for the show. I asked one of the guys there about a bunch of bundles they had in the walk in and he let it slip that they were their new Illusione blend!

Looks like there is another new vitola coming from Illusione. He said right now they are just in the sample stage and then decided it wasn't good to tell me more. ;)

I was there and we did some extensive coverage on www.stogieguys.com

As for the new Excalibur, it is called the Excalibur Legend and General Cigar says it is a more full-bodied Hoyo Excalibur. The section of the band where it says Excalibur is red instead of yellow.

I smoked one today over lunch and found it to be medium bodied with a mix of earth, paper, pepper and some sweetness. I'll reserve judgment until had another, but overall I found it enjoyable. I does seem to fit the bill that they described... both similar to the regular Excaliburs but with a little more punch.

I didn't take a photo of it before I smoked it.

There was a new size - he gave a few out as people were placing orders (or giving him rum......right Andrew) :D

The show was very interesting - you could look at some of the booths and see who was taking a soft, conversational approach, and who was taking a purely business approach.
There were a few people I saw who really should not have been there - they were going through the booths, grabbing hand-fulls of cigars, putting them in their bags, and walking away.

I heard the CAO party was the bomb! Lynyrd Skynyrd @ Rain night club followed by VIP party in Hugh Hefner's Playboy suite!

The owners of Bull and Bear Naperville have some amazing pictures of both events.

Dion did in fact not only have a new vitola for the upcoming year but....but....his new Cruzado...AMAZING!!!!! By far, as of right now, it is the best thing that I have smoked from the show thus far. The new Cubao from EO Brands (makers of the 601) was a great smoke but needs either a bit more time or it was overhumidified when I smoked it...still very enjoyable. As far as the Mi Barrio line from Eddie, I have yet the chance to sit down and enjoy it. DPG had another new line this year, as well as two new sizes (we have all seen the Fundadores) in the DpG Blues. Other than that news, I have not yet had a chance to sit and smoke any other new products. I will have pics loaded hopefully tomorrow.

I am looking forward to the new Excalibur Legend as well. Nice price point at around 5-7 a stick. Also looking forward to the new Cohiba Dominican Puro and the Macanudo 1968. I have not smoked my samples from the show, but have read nothing but good things about the '68 so far (who'd have thought?).

I thought the 15 Anniversario from Flor de Gonzales (actually introduced at last year's show) was just awesome. By far the best cigar I smoked at the show, but I have many more to go.

I thought the new Mi Dominicana Puro from Jose Sejas (Altadis) was a disappointment. I will smoke another one just to make sure, though.

The show was spectacular hit this year. While I was working all day everyday, I had a brief chance to walk around and check out the other booths on the half day on Thursday which was cool. There were a lot of new cigars out this year which should make the next couple months interesting in the industry.

The most impressive new boutique smoke (for me) is the Escensia from Brother of the Leaf (better known as the Palio Cutter folks).

Mark Aub is a stand up guy and his new cigars are unbelievable!

A Media friend went. I'll fill you in when he get's all his info/photo's to me. I'll be at the Big Smoke in November though!!

We officially launched our Premier, Classic and Vintage lines. Response was great! I really love our new Classic cigar. I was smoking them all the time.

I went and did a write up for another site ( they asked me first). The Macanudo 1968 is actually a good cigar...the HdM Excalibur Legend is also nice, not as full as the Mac tho.
La Aurora had a preferido Lancero, Arganese had his new CL3 and ML3s. MATASA had their new Casa Magna...very clean tasting and full bodied. Drew Estate launched new sizes of the Liga Privada #9 and CUT THE PRICE on the toro by a buck.
The Escencia from Palio was the most powerful smoke...the petit corona reminded me of a Cuban Bolivar.
So many cigars and so little time.
