I tried when I first started, but was going too fast down the slope to keep up so I quickly gave up.

I keep an Excel spreadsheet of cigars by brand, vitola de salida, vitola de galera, size ("/rg), country of origin, # of cigars {NC # seperate}, retail$ value, if they've been frozen or not, and notes on each.

It gives me something to look at while at work :ss

I have a small spreadsheet where I track how many I bought, how many I have left and if I liked it enough to buy a box or more.
I don't keep a spreadsheet, but I do have a text file that I use to save comments on every new stick I try - makes it easier to remember what to buy (and what to avoid) after trying 40 or 50 brands.

I created an Excel spreadsheet that I keep the name of the cigar, the size of the cigar, how many I have, and when I bought them. The spreadsheet then calculates how old the cigars are so I can try them in different stages of resting. Pretty anal retentive I know, it's just another one of my problems.

:ss

Theres only a handful that I will smoke regularly so its fairly easy to remember what I have sitting in my humidor. I do have a few odds and ends from trades that I have yet to try... maybe I will need to keep track. It's funny how I can find anything related to cigars to be a good idea. This has become one hell of a hobby.

I keep a very small inventory of cigars, but on my spreadsheet I rate each stick 1-4. The reason that I like using an even number is because that won't let me pick the "middle" when I rate the cigar. I have to either pick 1) poor, 2) not very good, 3) pretty good, 4) excellent.

you'd be surprised how many "2s" I have because I cannot decide between "pretty good" and "not very good." I find myself smoking more of what I like because of this rating system. I typically will never purchase a 2 rated cigar after giving it that score.

Considering I have way more than I can count, best guess is 1000, I look thru the glass and see what I have. If it is something I want, smoke it, if not, it rests. Don't know the viotolas of half of my cigars, it is what it is, I can probably tell you the brand but after that it is up to you to guess the size and line. :tu

Maybe I am just a big dummy:confused:

If I have to keep a spreadsheet on what I bought and what I smoke, it turns into a job and not a Passion I enjoy. Half the fun is reaching into the humi and grabbing a stick to smoke thinking of nothing else. I guess I try to keep things simple.

I can understand that. But with us anal retentive types, the record keeping is part of the passion! :D

I don't know exactly how many I have but I do know what I have. It's all stored in the above the shoulder file. :D
