Let me start by saying a couple of things: I love Don Pepin Garcia cigars. This won't be a review about nuances.

I'm sitting in my back yard smoking the DPG Black corona with a Kona blend black coffee. I bought the coronas because I'm a fan of the DPG Black robusto, and I figured the smaller ring gauge would give me both a quicker smoke and more of the spice I like in the robusto- I love that Pepin bite on the tip of my tongue.

There's nothing subtle about this cigar. It's a full blend with strong tobacco flavor. Like the robusto, it's spicy. The spice is slightly more intense than the robusto, and both the flavor and the spice have increased throughout. The corona also has a little sweetness- something I have not really picked up when smoking the robusto.

The corona lasted for 65 minutes but I smoked it slower than normal, because I was writing this review.

If you like the other DPG Black vitolas, give this one a try. I think I'll keep a box in the cooler and put the corona in the regular rotation.
